We are new to the school, but so far, we love everything about Faith. There is a true community atmosphere, and I feel like my children are going to a safe, loving place every day where they can learn about Christ. The teachers have been so welcoming and have thoroughly communicated everything to the parents. I also love the use of technology. High-schoolers are using iPads for their textbooks, and I feel like my children will have a rigorous academic schedule, as well as a fantastic social and spiritual setting. I am very pleased.

Teacher effectiveness: Very ineffective
May 24, 2015
The teachers do not teach. They assign reading assignments and tell them to write about it. They do not teach the lessons.

Amount of homework: Too much
May 24, 2015
The teachers give homework to make up for the fact that they do not teach their lesson plans.

Develops respect: Strongly disagree
May 24, 2015
Students dislike the teachers because the teachers do not treat them fairly, causing a lack of respect on both ends.

There are only a few good teachers, especially in the high school. Most teachers in the high school think teaching is assigning busy work while they sit at their desk is teaching. None of the teachers are actively engaged with the students. Teachers do not even have degrees in the subjects they teach most of the time.

FCA is a great place if you want a school that desire to assist the family in the training of your child spiritually, academically, and socially. They have a very high percentage of 2nd and 3rd generation families. I am a second generation family. I went to school there and send all three of my kids to the school. The negative comments about favoritism are just not true. I do not go to the church and my children are treated the same as those that do attend the church. The school is a place that you should check out!

This school shows favoritism and doesn't treat all students the same way. Faith Christian Academy will not treat your child fairly unless you attend their church.

Faith is a wonderful school. We are a Military Family and when we moved to Goldsboro we explored every private school as well as the public school Tommy's Road Elementary. As soon as we got a tour of Faith and met the Principle we knew this was the school. My son is now in his 6th year at Faith and the experience has been outstanding. The school, teachers and staff are so organized and Professional. I recommend any Christian family of any denomination to put their children in this school.

When we moved to Goldsboro we prayed and looked about what school to entrust our children s academic growth to. All three of our children attended and graduated from Faith Christian Academy (FCA). I WOULD RECOMMEND Faith if, you want a school that holds students to a highest standard. FCA is a school that demands honesty, commitment and accountability of its students. It has excellent scholastic and extracurricular programs. I would NOT RECOMMEND FAITH if you want a school where your children can do whatever they want and have no standards. The teachers are all committed to the LORD.

Profile Completeness

ADVANCED

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
