the Principal and Staff are excellent, and appear to be dedicated to each student's achievement and sucess. As a parent I find that reasurring.

My Daughter is in Kindergarten here at GFES. She loves her teachers and Mr.Miller the principal is wonderful. She was chosen out of her class as most improved student. I was very proud of her for her award. Thank you to all the teachers and the rest of the staff for being so kind and encouraging.

Four of my children have attended Granite Falls Elementary School. At one time or another I have had a child in every grade. Mr. Martin has done an excellent job as Principal. He is friendly, accessible and knows the children and most of the parents by name. The office staff is also very helpful and very willing to go out of their way for my family. The teachers are a terrifically talented group of men and women. They generally care about my children's successes and failures. Even when misbehavior or difficulties have occurred my children's teachers have all been very proactive and worked with us as parents to fix the situation. I feel that academically my children are well prepared for their new grades next year. We are moving and will miss Granite Falls Elementary students, staff and teachers! I hope we can find another school like Granite. H. Cummens

4th grade can be hard & I understand that repetitive is the key to learning & I understand giving the homework for that purpose but it seems that everything starts being crammed in toward the end of the year-pre-algebra & geometry on top of multiplication & long division is alot to try to learn--giving 35 problems & --even on the night he had to study for the writing test the next day--he had math homework & EVERY weekend this can do the opposite of what is trying to be accomplished--everyone needs a break--there's enough pressure on these kids & why is there not a program like at Sweetwater-City of Refuge After School Enrichment --implemented here especially since the children here didn't do well on the EOG in Math?

My son has attended since kindergarten and is now in the 3rd grade. He is in the AG program and his weekly tests put him reading at the 5th or 6th grade level. He made the A honor roll. And we as parents do encourage him but do not push him. His teachers have been the absolute best as well as Stephen Martin, the Principal.

Personally I like this school except for all of the fundraisers, seems like someone or something is always asking for money. Teachers are good except for a couple in the upper grades. Some of the office staff can be a little snobby, but other than that my children love it there.

We were new to the area last year--my son has learning disabilities & is ADD--there is not enough help for these children. Teacher helping in this area is very poor and the principal at the meeting at the beginning of this school year--basically said the reason the school didn't pass per state was because of children leaving early & coming in late & said it was mainly the children w/reduced lunches(which I thought was very unprofessional)it was more like passing the buck instead of saying that they will do whatever it takes to make sure each child is on level. Teachers say 'I don't have time' that is their job--no other job are you allowed to say I don't have the time. Somebody needs to come in that school & watch what's going on & question some parents. I am not impressed.

I attended GF schools from grade 1-10 before going to south. Granite Falls has a great teaching staff and for the most part a wonderful atmosphere. We as parents are welcome to attend field trip, lunch or whatever activity arises. My son enjoyes the school and his friends. One of the things that need improving the most is Lunch. Has to be the worst,worst,worst..Rules for every kid having a plate should change. I spent more on lunch that isnt fit to eat and then I`m told he has to have it. Waste cost no one but me. If there not going to eat it they should not have to get it..Change the lunch and staff....

My son has attended gfes since second grade and is currently in the 5th grade. We have been pleased with this school until there was a principal change and the school 2 years ago. Since then the atomsphere, dicipline and overall staff morale has seriously declined. Parent concerns are not properly addressed and the staff is often very rude, especially in the office, cafeteria and in upper grade classrooms. There are too many fundraisers with the most of the monies going to pay associate staff salaries and not enough of the monies going directly to things to benefit the children. This school has too many children and not enough space. I would not reccommend this school as it seems to get worse with each passing year.

I have 3 children that go to GFES and i am very pleased with this school. My middle child had some speech problems and the teachers there where very helpful. My oldest child wouldn't think of going anywhere else and personaly I wouldn't send any of my children anywhere else but to GFES. I just want to thank them for there hardship and time that they have helped with my children. My son starts this year and I hope he enjoys it as much as the other two has.

My son has attended GFES since kindergarten. He has a problem with reading that we have dealt with for a couple of years. His teacher this year has done nothing but put him down, make him feel like he doesn't count and does not try to encourage him. My son now hates attending this school and if he should have to repeat this grade, we will indeed attend another school. I have had to resort to sending my son to Sylvan Learning Center in order to assist him with learning what he should have at GFES. I am very upset and disappointed in this school this year.

My oldest child started kindergarten in 2003-2004 school year at GFES and I was very pleased with the school. I enjoyed being able to as involved as I wanted to be. I felt very welcomed and appreciated by staff and other parents. In my opinion GFES is a top knotch school with top knotch staff. I also, feel like the school is very blessed to have the support from parents that they do. I can only hope that your experience will be as great as my firt experience with school has ben.

We as a family have been very pleased with the education that our son has offered to him at GFES. The staff is top notch. He has always been challenged in his studies andhas never been left to just coast. The individual attention that these childeren recieve is comparable to that of a private school. My son has attended both and we are happy with GFES. The teachers not only excel at the education of our children but they care that the parents are invloved. GFES has a wonderful parent-teacher relationship.

We have been very pleased with the our experience at GFES. The staff is a very dedicated one, as is the parent body. Our children continue to excel and they love to go to school! I would strongly recommend this school to anyone considering it!
