My daughter attends Vandalia Christian school for three years (4th grade). We definitely plan to stay. I am very happy with education my child receives and with Christian atmosphere of the school. It feels like a family where people really care. Vandalia has very strong music program. My daughter plays clarinet in a band and takes piano lessons. Every day she goes to school with joy and excitement. Children are nice and were very welcoming when my child came to Vandalia for the first time. She loves all her teachers. I also noticed how much her character changed for better since she started in Vandalia. She is less shy and more willing and excited to try new things. She learned to try harder and not give up when something doesn't work right away. I just can not ask for more. The only suggestion on my part would be to make class sizes smaller.

This is not what I expected from a christian school. They are not kind, compassionate, or tenderhearted. They make the children feel guilt and ashamed. They are very expensive with costs for everything. They also expect you to participate in funraisers. Things that are required have an additional fee. Just because a person can keep forking out money they are not a better christain or parent. They can not tell me how to raise my children. I am the parent, they can not take control. They need to restudy the virtues in the bible and model their school after that. I removed my children from their school. beware.

I love everything about Vandalia. The care and love from the teachers. The dedication of all the staff. The feeling that my child is safe. The curriculum.

I have a child in VCS. I love the school, the sprituality and the safe feeling I get when I leave my child. What I dislike is the lack of extracurricular activities and diversity among staff. I would like to see teachers of different ethnicities, in addition I would like to see other ethnicities and countries being celebrated.

I have two children who have been attending Vandalia Christian School for six years now and am very pleased with the school. While no school is perfect, Vandalia strives to honor God in all they do and to give students a well-rounded education deeply entrenched in Biblical values. My children have grown academically, athletically, and spiritually and it is due in large part to the loving leadership of the staff and faculty. I am very thankful for this school and would heartily recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeking a faith-based education for their child.

I had three children at this school at the beginning of the school year, I now have two. This school is a wonderful school for children without any learning disabilities. My son is 3 and has a slight delay. I was told to take him out due to the structure of this school. I feel that they did not give my son a fair chance. Now, my other children do great! The school has been wonderful for them. Just keep in mind if you have a child with any learning disability that this may not be the school for you.

MY 3 year old started at Vandalia Christian school last year. My husband and I could not be more pleased with the quality of education he has received and as Christians we are overjoyed with the amount of Christian education he is getting. We moved him from regular daycare because we were tired of him being influenced by the negativity from other children. The teachers at Vandalia Christian School blend love and discipline in a way that my son can't help but prosper. I cannot wait until my 1-year old is old enough to attend!

I have been more than pleased with the education my children recieve at Vandalia. The quality of the academics and the Christian Values. I'm very thankful for the teachers and the leadership of the entire school. Dr. Weatherford is very supportive of the students and Parents. My girls come home and share how the teachers Pray in class and take requests. Our family can't say enough positive things about the school. To the entire staff at Vandalia 'thank you'. May the Lord continue to bless you.

Our child came to Vandalia at the end of her 7th grade year (transferring from a private christian school where the focus was 98% academics. Homework was 3 hours each night and weekends. She missed a lof of Wed. night church. Tired of the rigurous curriculum and no time for her to be a child, we decided as a family to look into other schools. After a lot of investigation, we found Vandalia to be the perfect school for her. Vandalia Christian meets all the expectations. Homework is a reasonable amount. No homework on Wednesday night, many opportunities for activities after school to explore her talents and most importantly everything this school does in surrounded by God. They have chapel every week, prayer in their classes and are surrounded by a christian staff of teachers and principals.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
