Very pleased with the administration and staff of this school. Students are pushed to excel and the principal, Mr. Laine has a very good relationship with the students and parents. I am very pleased that we chose this school.

My child loves this school. Im glad I put her in here. Im glad that there are rules in place. Because at the schools that dont have this rules there's chaos. Kids theses days need more rules in place and not so much freedom to do whatever. High school is the first step to becoming an adult. So keep up the good work Northern Guilford High.

My daughter is graduating this year. SHe is very good student both academically and behaviorally. She has done OK at Northern. However my son struggles academically because of a learning disability. He is also interested in baseball. Do not expect your child to succeed at Northern if they have a learning disability, if you cannot attend every fund raiser for the athletics and if you can not coach a high school sport in the area. The only students chosen for sports are those that have a very involved parent regardless of ability. It is totally "daddy" sports at Northern. We have proof that our son has better stats than several students accepted on the baseball team and he was cut. Very disappointed in the school. Favoritism in every accept of the school.

Yes, NGHS is a newer school that is aesthetically appealing, but it feels like a prison. The students and teachers are stressed out and unhappy, to a great extent. The principal is known more as a warden than a principal. Instead of having a fun, healthy experience at this school, my child comes home virtually every day complaining about how miserable she and her friends are. There's virtually no school spirit (except for football) because the students are extremely restrictive and the kids can hardly breathe without getting in trouble. Yes, my child is a 4.0 student and making the grade, but has begged me over and over to not allow his/her siblings attend this school. And he/she is not alone. It saddens me that the kids are miserable. Do they get a decent education and are they safe? Yes. Yet they should be living their glory years without feeling so stressed out and miserable. My child cannot get out of NGHS fast enough and that breaks my heart. I wish she could make a transfer for her last year. It is possible to keep this school safe and for the students to have a fun experience. My child's high school experience is very different than that of mine and my wife's.

I've enrolled my two children at Northern Guilford High and am very happy with the quality of the building, the leadership, and the teaching staff here. They offer tons of honors and AP courses and a variety of sports and clubs. It's easy to get involved at Northern and I would recommend the school to any parent.

Of the 4 high schools I attended, this was my favorite. The students here (depending on the crowd you hang out with) are kind, caring, and some of the best people ive met in my 20 years of life. The AP program along with the honors programs are fantastic. the teachers are the ones who propel these programs, because year after year the school has at least 4 kids graduating with a GPA above 5. The valedictorian last year recieved a full ride to the Air force academy, and a personal friend of mine recieved a full ride to NC state :) THey have great sports teams, along with other great student orgs, such as Habitat for Humanity. High school is what the kids make of it, and if you get with the right people at this school, you could have some fun while learning a thing or two.

Newer school that is just now graduating its first class. So far it seems OK but in one year I have noticed some teachers with a lack of drive and personal responsibility for their work. New principal seems determined to make it a good school though and has done a good job of cleaning up a mess left him and building a foundation for the future.

Best school ever! Great support from parents and students and teachers. Determination from the students to fill this beautiful building with education and pride!
