Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I am very disappointed in this school. My son is on the football team and there was an incident with several boys holding him down while other punched and kicked him. When I went to administration and the coach about the situation and how the kids called themselves a gang I was informed that it was more of a hazing. The punishment was missing get one game and iss for these boys. My son has now been threatened by several students and the lack of control and punishment is beyond words. It had not only happened to my son but three other players and it happened last year also. I was very disappointed and have since called the board of education but as of the past few days nothing had changed. The suggestion I got was to consider changing schools for his safety!!!

Before my Son started this school last year, I had heard so many horror stories and was so afraid for him to start 6th grade here. I was so happy when things weren't like that at all. My Son is in the advanced classes, so that may make things a bit different in the classrooms. But I am so happy with his teachers so far :)

This school has done more to raise my son's grades and spirits than his previous three schools. I thought a Magnet program would be good for him, but this school has proven me wrong. The teachers, administrators and students are all determined to do their best.

I think SEMS is a great school but do not agree with the dress code.

I have been very pleased with SEMS. We have an outstanding principal and a terrific faculty. Our principal and vice principals are wonderful leaders and demonstrate their care and concern for the students on a daily basis. They continuously strive to make our school an even better place. There is a tremendous amount of parental involvement and is greatly encouraged and appreciated by the entire school staff. I can not think of a better school!

The school is absolutely terrific! I love how the parents always try to stay involved with the teachers and the child's school.
