Southern is one of the best schools in the Guilford County School System. As a teacher who subbed in many of the GC Schools, I can honestly say the staff works together well and the students are treated with respect. The teachers try their best to meet each students needs. Volunteers are needed to help with the students who need extra teaching. This is a clean and well kept school. The Principal is very visable and a caring person.

I'm a parent of a 1st grader, and a former student. I'm very pleased with the education my son is getting at Southern. The staff is very committed to having the parent's involved with the kids and their education. The PTA is unbeatable, they have a monthly skate night that allows for the parents, teachers, kids to all connect. Both of his teachers have been great about communication and giving opportunites to meet with the parents. I feel good about sending my child there, I feel like they are an extension of family and I know that he will be loved, and educated as if he was one of their own.

I like my school because, the cafeteria food is very good, and the playground is alot of fun. My teacher, Mrs. Matier is very nice, and she has taught me about graphic organizers and sometimes she makes me laugh. I like having all of my friends there with me.

As a mother who went to Southern myself,I knew first hand that this is the school I wanted my children to go to. Southern is a very close school. The Parents,Staff and students are very close. If is like an extended family. The staff members all get to know the children on a first name basis. I have two girls and they look forward to comming to school each day because Southern provides a fun learning enviroment. I know that any child the attends Southern is in a postive learning enviroment.
