SOUTHEAST USE TO BE A TOP NOTCH SCHOOL. DON'T BLAME IT ON THE STAFF. BLAME THE PARENTS. EDUCATION BEGANS AT HOME. CHILDREN TODAY REALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND IT IS SAD. YOU CAN NOT BLAME THE TEACHERS FOR EVERY THING THAT GOES WRONG. IT IS ONLY ONE TEACHER TO A CLASS AND ABOUT 28-30 DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES WHEN IT COME TO THE STUDENTS. PARENTS NEED TO GET MORE INVOLVED.

I am now a junior at Shhs I feel that South East is a school of hard knocks of learning. I say this because every class is based on rigour working habits, this school has beeen known to compete on the level of Charlotte University. Our teachers always encourage us to strive for perfection and the highest grades possible. If you ask me i'd say that the state has misused and underestimated our great school for too long. We need to recognized for our high test scores and outstanding leadership in our communities.. We also have the best sports program a student could ever want. The football team is fantastic and very outgoing for just being a 1A school.

Southeast Southeast....well....this school has nothing really to offer......the teachers sit and let the kids do whatever they want (curse, play, distract class...e.t.c..) I am a witness to that. The kids focus on sports more than academics.YEs, I did say it. I tried my best to get out of that school and suceeded. Thank God for that...

SHHS is definitely not a school of distinction. It is sad to know that our children don't have teachers that really care. Being a product of the HCS and a graduate of SHHS, I am diappointed about how this school has turned out. I feel that my academic success was not an issue and am not happy with the education that I recieved there. I feel cheated. I only pray that someone will come in and give SHHS the discipline and structure that it needs. I truly feel for our students there and seriously doubt that I will allow my children to attend there.

The school is fantastic. All the teachers do an excellent job. The principal is exceptional! Class size and course of study are way above the norm. Discipline very good. Student and teacher repect is shown on a daily basis. Every child in nc should be so lucky to attend a superior school like shhs.

In my opinion Southeast Halifax High School is not a school of distinction. They have some major problems going to that school. The teachers and staff are really not doing their jobs. The principal there cannot handle a school that is unruley as that school. they has to do a lot of changing. They need strong hard discipline. They can't pay me enough to work at that school. There are help for those kids because they rarely offer anything to the kids. They are not trying to help those kids succeed.

Overall, I think Southeast Halifax is a good school but it has some major problems. I thnk it is a shame that there are no good courses of study for exceptional children there. They have a great sports program but I think it is focused on a little too much, and academic programs suffer in its wake. The band tends to be very good. My biggest complaint about this school is that teachers are so hard to talk too. I went there at the beginning of school about my child's schedule and I could hear the teacher as clear as day say 'I'm not going to be worried with these parents about these schedules' and she was the one who asked me to come in the first place! Sad to say some of them are really rude! It's hard for parents to get involved under those circumstances!
