The investment is the school facilities and the change in administrative leadership have made this school very attractive. While the socio/economic geography works against this school, the quality is there for students who value learning.

I like going to this school because of the fantastic people I have met and the memories I have made there. Almost all of the teachers that taught me were fantastic.

The influences of the teachers I have had are none other than of a top scale notch. The only times we are to watch movies are for: Substitues, whom may be little, if prepared for teaching the class, and during the end of the school year, before exams, after reviewing, while the teachers are preparing the grades of the students. All other times, unless, there is just no sanction in the class because of the attitudes of the students, the only movies watched are those to do with the cirriculum.

I think we have a problem... When you have teachers grading our kids on effort instead of what the grade actually is, are we back in kindergarden now? When a coach tells his sophmore athletes that he is 'required to start more freshman.' Who is he kidding! No wonder we keep losing. Someone needs to take it back to 'Old School' where you made an actual grade and not something that is made up. How are our kids supposed to make it in life if they are giving an 'E' for effort? Close only counts in horseshoes and hand granades. Please teach our kids and leave the guess work to someone else!- Jacky Church/ Former student and now parent.

This is my child's first year at North. I believe he is having a great high school experience. The teachers are caring and qualified. The principal is one of the best the county has had in many years. The school needs many updates and that is in the works. I see only positive things for North in the future. Although some of the sports have been on a down swing, I believe this has started to change because of the influx of some quality new coaches to go with some veterans. I would give North a 4 star rating with possibilities to go even higher.

I have found that North cares little for education and focuses on watching t.v and movies. I mean they watched Lord of the Rings in World History. The band has a great teacher who is trying her hardest to make it a good band. But they sound like an elementary school band. The only time I see parents there is when their kid is in trouble. Overall I am very frustrated for the lack of education my Son is getting.

Teachers are involved. The old principal cared and knew his students. The AP College program needs some work - but the school tries hard, and the students try harder, winning many quiz bowls. Sports are a part of any school, North Wilkes has won many state championships. My daughter attended this school, and overall I give it 4 stars!
