Hobgood Academy

Hobgood Academy just graduated its 40th class. That alone speaks for itself. My husband graduated from HA in 1976, my oldest son graduated in 2008 and is doing great in college and now my youngest will graduate in 2011. Hobgood Academy is a wonderful school, that is thru hard work by the teachers and patrons. All schools are not a good fit for everyone, but Hobgood Academy will make new students and families feel welcome if those families return the favor. I recommend this school to everyone.

Hobgood Academy is one of the worst school in the state of NC. I had to pull both of my children because the students where so mean to them. They can't keep teachers, this year alone they replaced 3 teachers. The teachers teach stuff they don't have a degree in. So whatever you do don't send your child to Hobgood Academy. It is not an accpeting environment.

Hobgood Academy is a great school. They teach very well and your kids get to be in a fun safe atmosphere.I recommend Hobgood Academy to any parents. the teachers are great.

HA is a great private school for the amount of money that you pay. I wish there were more extracurricular activities for the younger kids and more of a competitive atmosphere for the older kids (sports). My only complaint is that the lunch menu is definitely catered toward the kids, NOT very healthy. They feed the kids what they will eat, pizza, chicken nuggets, hamburgers & hotdogs. If anyone is interested in their child(ren) attending HA, just be aware that A LOT of fundraising is required. This is how the tutition is kept down. I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers - especially Mrs. June Judge (K). She really started off my daughters school years right. What a wonderful person & teacher. My daughter is now in 2nd grade and I have been pleased with all of the staff and the other children.

We have tried other public and private schools in the area, and we feel Hobgood is an excellent school.The atmosophere is warm and friendly and the staff really goes the extra mile in promoting all aspects of the child. Also, it is an excellent value for the money. Other schools who charge as much as 2X more don't really provide anything that my children can't get at HA.

Hobgood Academy has been a wonderful change for our children. We have been in other area private and public schools and we feel our children have been loved and cared for. It's the whole package(academics and athletics). The facilities are older,but it has a homelike atmosphere.

Teachers, Parents and Students all work together for a positive learning environment. Excellent athletics, good discipline and a feeling of safety.
