I have a special needs child. They really need to work on ways to communicate and work with the parents with the best interest of the child in mind. I beleive they need teachers who are specially trained to work with these children. They are just as special as all the other children in the school and I feel that they are treated differently and unfairly sometimes.

I am moving to the Collier district in a matter of days, and although my children will finish the year at their current school, they will attend Collier for the 2011-2012 school year (1st and 2nd grades). I have checked the schools report card over and over and can't help but worried about my kids being at Collier. Can someone give me some peace of mind???

I do not like this school, I have a child who attends this school and he has Autism. The principal refused services from outside agencies. It seems she cares more about her getting all the credit for student accomplishment instead of working with the community and what is best for the children.

My son attended 2nd and now 3rd grade at Collier. They do have monthly reading nights and I believe that is plenty as the PARENT should be reading at home with their child nightly. My son adored his 2nd grade teacher and is fond of the teacher this year. After moving from another state my son has adjusted very well to Collier and is on the A/B honor roll. I am kept aware daily of 'talking' issues and from my experience the teacher/parent duo works well together. I am currently buying a new house and making every effort to keep my son at Collier through his 5th grade year. There are family dining nights, quarterly awards assemblies and as far as im concerend excellant communication between school and parents!

My child is in his 3rd year here this year. He started with pre K and is currently in 1st. His pre K teacher was good, but his kindergarten teacher was and is the best. Ms Emerson has the best attitude. She teaches her class to always help others and treat others with respect. This year my son has Mrs Smith and I think that she is fair and helpful so far. my son is having a hard time adjusting to more academics and we are having a rough start, but we are getting there. I havent had any bad experiences yet. I am happy with my child here.

This school really does not have a lot to offer children. Reading nights are held once a month if that. In my son's class there are a few kids that act out all the time. Nothing seems to be done, so this makes me question their disciplinary policy. Some of the staff is wonderful, some need replaced. Everytime I go in it seem the library is closed. How can kids make their AR goals if they cant get in. Overall, I wish we could take our boys elsewhere, but I will continue having an effect in their education.

I have a child currently in third grade and one who is now in the eighth grade who spen his entire elementary career in Collier. I am an involved parent and have been very pleased with my expirence and thiers. The staff has changed alot over these many years, but there has constantly been a nurturing, caring teaching staff there. It is a great place to spend your day!

My child started C. Wayne some months back and the school is different from the one she left last year, the school is smaller, No accelerating reader nights, and the teacher my child have have to many kids to really be able to help them one on one and my child is in the first grade. I never took a tour of the school the first day my child was enrolled, and the teacher never gave her a list of materials they needed for the class. So overrall the school need to come up.
