Millis Road is a phenomenol school! The principal is outstanding, he is the only principal that I have ever witnessed doing car rider line in the morning and afternoon. He is available, friendly, and in tune with the children that attend MRE. The teachers and staff are also excellent! They work hard to ensure that each child has a warm, nurturing, academic environment to thrive in and are welcoming to ALL children. The PTA is also hard working, involved and supportive of the children and staff. Overall, this is an amazing school!
Millis Road is a wonderful elementary school. Everyone is welcome, the children are happy and eager to learn, the PTA is phenomenal, the principal goes above and beyond the call of duty and the teachers are the greatest! Our PE teacher has to be the best in the state along with many other teachers. My oldest daughter is in 5th grade and has had a great teacher EVERY year. My middle child needs certain other resources and they too are helpful to her situation. They are two VERY different children and yet both of them are nurtured and taught so they both can excel. I volunteer very often and have opportunities to help daily. Our family is beyond happy with Millis Road. I am excited for my youngest to start there in a few years. We feel so fortunate to be a part of this fabulous school!
The principle, teachers, and staff love teaching our children. Our parents are welcomed into the school to volunteer.
Every child that I know that attends Millis Road, has a GREAT experience. The teachers, Principal and volunteers all care deeply for each and every student.
This is a wonderful school. It has a small town community feel to it, and the principal is extremely welcoming. My son has been pushed to achieve his very best. I read the other reviews, and felt compelled to write as I only have great things to say.
Wonderful teachers, wonderful & friendly leadership and a great positive atmosphere! Love the paintings on the walls! They have done a fabulous job with their EOG's scores and work harder than any other school I have seen! A+
This school is outstanding! The teachers are excellent and the principal is wonderful all over! I love this school so much and so do my girls! One of my girls actually cried when she had to leave for summer break! My girls love the teachers and so do I! They really help each one individually! It is a great choice!
My son attended for half of his first grade year. We were new to the school system. We were not welcomed or oriented well at all. I wasn't given the opportunity to volunteer, the students were not disciplined well, my son's learning disability was not picked up on either. We were glad to leave the school.
From the outside, this school looks hideous. It is old and ugly. However, the quality of staff is good and the sense of community is outstanding. It is a smaller school than many of the surrounding elementaries. There are a few portables, but they are only used for extras like PE and music. No full-time classrooms out there.
I have been very disappointed with my child's education this year. I feel like she was not challenged enough. She is in the first grade and tested well in to the second grade level on reading. After that test she was not challenged on her reading anymore. Books stopped coming home for her to read,it just seemed like the teacher felt like she didn't have to work on reading with her at all. Overall I think the school is okay even though you have to be friends with someone important to be included in the loop. Communication is a huge issue this year. Parent/teacher communication is basically non-existant.Maybe my issues are with one particular teacher however, I don't seem to be the only one considering a different school for next year.
