First Christian Academy is a wonderful school! My daughter started in Kindergarten and is now a senior graduating with a 4.0 plus GPA. She has received an excellent education. She has been accepted at numerous first rate universities. The most mportant part of her education is the fact she has been taught with the love of God from all her teachers. I cannot praise her teachers enough. I know they do not get paid near as much as public school teachers, however they love teaching and they love our children!!!They would not make this sacrifice if this was not true.! If you want an excellent education with teachers that care about your child, send them to FCA! I know!!! I have a nephew in public school. There is no comparison to the extra attention, and the personalized education that your child will receive at FCA. You will never regret your decision, neither will your child!

First Christian Academy is more than a school. My son has attended there for the last five years and I know thar in my heart he would never be on the level the he is academilcally without the love and dedication from the staff. The students are closley knit but never a "clic" . Each child is embraced and the student is lifted up and encouraged in many way, the staff are amazing and loving. Class sizes are small and teachers are always available for the student and parent. Communication is always open and encouraged. The education obtained here goes far beyond books but character also.

My daughter is a Freshman in High School and has been at the school since Kindergarten. First Christian Academy has been such a blessing to our family. The teachers and principal really care about your child as if it were there own. My daughter absolutely loves her school and her teachers. She loves the Christian atmosphere and would never think of being anywhere else!

This was my child's first year at FCA and I must say that it has been a great experience. The small class sizes, friendly staff and students, and the infusion of Christian beliefs in learning, has really helped my son become a better student and a better person.

My child is a senior at First Christian Academy and we love the school. My daughter drives 30 miles each way to school each day and this shows the sacrifice that our family has committed to each day. I thank God that the right people were put in our path because we would have never known about the school. The staff at FCA works extremely hard and are very dedicated to what they do. My child has given a lot of her time to the school by volunteering at almost every event and this shows that she truly loves the school!!!!!

First Christian School has been a great place for both of my kids. The class size (8-12 students) is great and the chance for my kids to take dance classes and swim lessons as a part of their curicullum is awesome!! Also, the food service is as far from "cafeteria food" as you can get - that kitchen staff rocks and they make great meals for the children every day. The curicullum is challenging, yet not overwhelming. It's amazing to see how quickly my kids are learning while having FUN at the same time.

WE, my child and I, love our school. Provided that the good Lord does not call us from Greensboro, I intend for my child to graduate from First Christian. She agrees. We were called here from Oklahoma and led to First Christian. It was the only school that we visited. I knew it BEFORE the first visit. We were called. We have both been completely satisfied with our school from day one and know that it is His will for her to attend First Christian. We have invested in Christian education since K3. My child has attended several schools in several states and First Christian is the finest. If you are serious about Christian education then prayerfully consider our school.

FCA has proven to be a good school with caring, intelligent and thought provoking teachers. With solid administration receiving strong support from the church, the environment is one where kids are free to learn in a safe, Christian atmosphere. They have a good athletic program which will hopefully expand to include more more soon and a very strong arts and music program. It is a great value for the money.

FCA has been through many changes over the last couple of years (growing pains). This said, the teachers and the church elders have remained to support their students and one of their most adored teachers will be a great principal/counselor for this aspiring school. The students have respect and love for their teachers. The teachers have worked hard to implement the best curriculum for their students which has pushed the students past public school test scores. The 'arts' have been a wonderful asset to the school, the music and dance teachers are talented and put on quite the show. If your thinking about FCA, I suggest that you talk to Ms. Cantrell (K teacher), who has been there the longest and can tell you first hand of the growth of the school and why being at FCA is so important to her to which has made her another beloved teacher.

My experiences with the academy thus far have been wonderful. I am pleased with the passion the teachers and Mr. Ross have for the school. My daughter is a happy and proud student who takes comfort in knowing that she can openly discuss and turn to her faith while at school. I hope to see the school embrace a bit more creativity w/in the classroom (not just in electives) and I would also like to see the Academy/Preschool classrooms be seperate from Sunday School rooms. These, however, are just minor issues when considering how great the strengths of this school are.

Mr. Ross has certainly made a huge improvement in the quality of this school. I give him a 100% rating in his fair, but swift & strict disciplinary actions.

My child has attended FCA for five years. I have met parents of several former students who transitioned to public schools (for financial reasons) and all but one said their child was ahead of those kids when they started. The other child had a learning difference and was struggling in public school as well. I'm very happy with FCA. I send my child there to reinforce eternal lessons that I cannot trust the public schools to teach. Of course he learns all of the required subjects as well. With smaller class size, great teachers and a committed principal and staff, this school has been a wonderful experience. And the new high school will make a transition unneeded. I'm sorry one parent was unhappy with their experience. The issues they raised are found elsewhere too. The good of this school far outweighs any negative I can think of!

Both of my children go to FCA; one has been there for 6 years now, the other 2 years. Both love it and have grown in their knowledge/love of Christ and that is so worth everything. I had a hard time when my youngest was in Kindergarten, deciding if private school was the right way to go. One day after school his teacher came out to the car and told me that my son had asked the class to pray for his Aunt (she was suffering w/ cancer) and she wanted me to know that they would keep her in their prayers...that was when I knew we were exactly where we needed to be! Educationally, there have been challenges for us w/ my oldest because he is smarter than the average bear. We are trying to help him in this area.

My child has grown both spiritually and academically through the guidance of the professional educators at this school. I am looking forward to this upcoming year - to see the new and exciting changes coming.

I agree with all. THe negative comments are before the new principal Mr. Ross came to the school. Mr. Ross is young and has children of his own. His visions are grand and he puts forth 100%. His teachers have been revived by his new ways. He lets them strive, he doesn't let them get snuffed out. The children have an awesome time at worship, the curriculum has been improved (Mr. Ross' specialty) and the children are disciplined yet loved and respected. From a parent who did not have a child in 3rd grade at last year, the 3rd grade put on a marvelous program where children dressed as their favorite historical person while speaking of their character as if you were in a faux-wax museum. They also have a new secretary and new plans have been implemented to make it easier on families.

I seriously beg to differ with some of the comments made. The teacher to student ratio is much better at this school than you would find at a public school. The lack of availability of foreign language is due to the fact that nobody wants to be a foreign language teacher anymore. Yes, there is only one teacher per grade level (I must remind you that there are two 1st grade teachers), but that does not prevent the teachers from creating a challenging classroom environment. This school more than prepares its students for a public school transition. Each of the students are performing at a level that is much higher than the state requires. This is also the only private school in the area that requires its teachers to be state certified. If you take the time to do your research, you will find that this is an exceptional school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
