Wonderful school! Teachers are great. Could do without the homework. The children are at school for 6 plus hours a day. Surely they can accomplish the work there. As a working parent. I do not wish to fight or argue over homework every night, My time with my childen should be relaxing and happy. I find myself doing the homework just ot get it done. That goes for the projects assigend as well. Who is really doing them? It's the parents!!!. Also 1/2 days or teacher work days are a nuisance. You get your child to school, only to have to turn around and get them at 1130. What are they learning in that time? How about taking those teacher work days and throw them together and give everyone a week off in February?

We have won the Distinguished School Award for NC schools, All of our teachers go above and beyond for thier students, this school had a 100% pass rate for the Wright Flight porgram which is an extra class and series of tests above and beyond their required school work, that all 5th graders take to learn about the history of flight, since we live where flight began. After completeing and passing this course the students get to take a one on one flying lesson at the nearby airport. Also we have a great PTO(A) and great volunteers that help with a wide range of fund raisers throughout the year. FFES also has the KSCRP program which teaches/rewards the students for acts of Kindness, Safety, Cooperation, Respect, and Peacefulness, every month of school. This is a GREAT school and these days, A LOT of teacher funding has been cut so this school could use money to keep these wonderful programs going to inspire our students and keep them motivated!!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN THE USA!! The teachers, principal and staff are beyond exceptional , they are AMAZING!! This schools philosophy is based on positive reinforcement which is one of the main reasons i feel it is such a success! It is such a wonderful, warm, and enriching enviroment for our children to gain knowledge, attain their individual goals and set forth a strong educational foundation. The children here are not just a number they are treated as a special unique individual as we all should be...Amazing Elementary School!!!

I am very impressed with First Flight Elem. Schools teachers, Principals, staff and the PTO. The school is very organized and the teachers work wonderfully with the children and parents. My children had attended a wonderful private school in Charlotte so I expected this transition to be difficult. It wasn't. The teachers helped our family and my children make a wonderful adjustment to this area. We feel very blessed to be here. They also have a middle school next door and a high school across the street. They seem to work well with those schools and share the resources available to them. The principal and assistant principal seem to be available when needed and the children respect them both. The school counselor is amazing.

Fantastic school! Wonderful teachers and principal! Individual attention is a high focal point and the atmosphere is based on positive reinforcement so the children are rewarded for positive behavior which enhances their self esteem. I would highly recommend this wonderful school!
