There are no words to tell you what this school has meant to myself and my daughter. Even with a medical limitations I have seen my daughter excel thanks to Laurel Hill Elementry, (Miss Davis) :)
I have two daughters in this school. My husband and I are very pleased with all of the staff members. Thanks.
On my first entry I was having a really hard time trying to get the school to listen to me. For the past 2 years this school has really gotten better. The lines of communication have opened up. My son that has ADHD is receiving the help that he needs to excel. The teachers that he has now and last year really know how to work with children that have ADHD. I really appreciate them. It is good to know that there are teachers at this school that really care about the kids. And that they know how to work with kids that have ADHD. Thank you second and third grade teachers. Hopefully it will remain this way in the years to come.. Rita Norton proud parent....
I think this school is a great school for my son. He is in kindergarden. I like this school becouse I know he is safe while he is there and is happy there. Mrs. Goodman new most the kindergarden names after the first week of school. That showed me she pays them attention. She even remembered what kid belongs to what parnts. which is good when the first week of school she could do that with the all kids new and old.
I will be soooo glad when my children are finished with this school. One of my children is ADHD and this is affecting his learning. There should be classes that can be taken to help. If the lessons were made fun to learn then all of the children would benefit from it. My child is also being seen at CBC and the psychologist said that my child should not have to repeat his grade. His visual, perception and reasoning is the problem.(Getting the hand to do what the brain tells you)
My son has gone to Laurel Hill Elementary for 7 years now. The whole staff is wonderful. My son is extremely quiet and year after year each teacher has helped him to adapt to his new class. The principal even rode a bike into one of the pep rallies set up for the EOGs. The student with the most improved score from the previous year would win a bike. They have a wonderful after school program referred to as Scotland Scholars, which is designed to assist students who need extra studies. My son left the school for half of a school year, and was far more advanced that the school he had to attend in another state. Laurel Hill is also a very clean and new built school located in a convenient location.
