School has a total disregard for bullying, my son was abused & assaulted 4 times in 2 months and we made several attemps with the prinicpal and guidance counselor to resolve..nothing was done. The only caring person was the asst principal. for safety reasons we had to move our son to another middle school within the district and the superintendent Rick Stout & asst superintendent stewart blount refused to allow my son to use the bus that stops right by our home for transportation due to "policy". they are more concerned with rules than your children or their safety in this district...i wouldnt recommend ANYONE move to this district...its FAR LESS THAN STELLAR
I have had a very positive experience with both the administration and teachers.
I have found the teachers at Sycamore Lane to be very concerned and cooperative. This has also been the case with the principal and his staff in the office. They have only been limited by an education system that refuses to see that students are not stamped out of cookie cutters. There is too much emphasis on testing, but that is the situation at every school. Parent involvement is crucial.
Little or no parent teacher communicaton. Notes to teachers from parents concerning childs grades or problems are ignored.
This school is very disorganized and geared towards the black students way too much. Many of the teachers are also very unprofessional and the place is- at times, at least- a zoo.
