My son completed his K-5 there and now my daughter has begun. A new principal started this year for the 2011-2012 school year. There is nothing but great things to be said about her! She is very positive, great communicator, respectful to her staff and parents, listens and acts on suggestions, attends all PTO meetings and encourages parents/teachers to get involved to make this school the best! She genuinely cares for her staff and students. I applaud her efforts to raise the bar on this school; she does it in a very positive and enthusiastic manner. She does return emails, phone calls and follows up on anything you may be concerned about. We have always had excellent teachers but now Mrs. Finger brings Excellence and Respect back to Leicester Elementary from our Administration!! Thank you so much to our wonderful teachers and principal!! Grade given: A+ Michelle G.
I love this school. My daughter has been there for five years. She has had some of the best teachers. Everyone that works at that school is great. Everyone is so helpful, anything you need, any questions you have they are really there for you. We could not ask for a better school here in Leicester.
We have the best teachers around, they are there for the children. The staff their works hard for the kids.My son loves to go to school in it because he has had rally great teacher. He loves to read thanks to Mrs. McCary.
I have had 2 children attend this school and now 2 grandchildren. I find the staff caring and ready to help. My children and grandchildren have gotten a firm foundation and a love of education from this school and all that works there.
Has a great PTO that is really involved
I think all concerned are great at this school. If you want to volunteer, they are very happy to have you. Just ask.
Both of my children have went to this school. I think this is a great school and love the teachers. As in life you will have bad apples so to speak but most of the teachers are great!!!
I have to take offense with some of the reviews that are posted on here. The staff at this school has to be the most caring, compassionate, dedicated people that I have ever met. They go the extra mile to help students that need help, to engage the higher learning students in activities that challenge them and to encourage each child in their individual learning styles. Not only is the staff caring but the principal and assistant principal have helped to institute new activities for the student body to further educate the students.
If not for the parents, this school would be in serious trouble. The level of comitment by the staff is not acceptable. If your child attends this school, I urge you to visit as often as possible and take a really good look at the level of professionalism displayed by the staff. My child attended K-1 here under the recently transfered principal. Assuming her replacement could only be a step up, we began grade 2. It lasted just a few weeks, as the new Principal is even less interested in the children than the old one was, if you can imagine that. Those of you who know the old one, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I truly hope that enough parents will take a stand and get this school back on the track in which it used to follow.
My child attended Leicester Elementary school last year and is entering the first grade. Her teacher did a wonderful job with her students and made my child want to learn. The teacher had an open door policy and I was able to talk to her when ever I had a question. The Principle was a no non sense type of person. I respect her because she would tell you what you needed to know, not what you wanted to hear. The school, and its staff does not get the credit it deserves!!
