We have 2 children who have attended CDS since kindergarten! Wonderful programs, teachers, staff, curriculum. We couldn't be more pleased or have expected or asked for anything more. Our boys have excelled. Thank you Mr. Cramer for making this an option. You are truly a blessing and a visionary!
Having just entered my child this year as a second grader, we couldn't be more pleased with the Roger Bacon Academy's Charter Day School in Leland. He was individually assessed and was put in groups that allowed him to succeed beyond what we thought he could! Great campus atmosphere and excellent teaching staff, the administration is to be commended for giving parents a choice in public education!
Our son has attened Charter Day School for two years, and we have had nothing but a postive experience! His teachers have been the key to his love of school, and they are constantly encouraging him to succeed. We drive over 30 miles each way to have our son attend Charter Day School and don't mind a bit because we know he is getting the best education experience in this area!
This school is over rated. My son has some disabilities in which I had to fight to get him help and even file a compliant at state level and won, Still there are issues with getting him the help he needs. Bullying is bad as well, the Administration brushes it off so they don't have to record the truth. Not all of the teachers are good and nice, even some of the subs are very mean. Also, I understand the kids having to clean up around their desks, but being made to clean the entire floor by hand before you can go to recess is ridiculous. They care more about how your child scores on tests than if they retain the information being taught. HIGH academic pressure. As the grade goes up they are also in school for longer days than other schools. I am removing my child from this school.
I was a little disappointed when my son attended this school for Kindergarten. My son has a disability and the only help we got from the school was to put him in the front of the class. There were no additional testing done for him to see what environment would suit his educational needs. Since we took him out and put him in Town Creek Elemantary, he as excelled! We had testing done, and specialists are available on campus for his disability.
Wonderful school. We could not be more pleased with the academics. I was told my daughter would be reading by Christmas (Kindergarten) and she was! I am also amazed at her math skills! The staff is wonderful!
We love Charter Day School in Brunswick County. My oldest will be going to the middle school this school year. Both of my children have attended CDS since kindergarten. We love the year-round schedule. The teachers truly care about the students. Any teacher that doesn't would certainly be asked to leave by administration. There is no bus service and no cafeteria but that probably means more funds for academics and extracurricular activities. I feel, because parents have to work out transportation and lunches, I know my children are going to school with other children whose parents are willing to make personal sacrifices to send their children to the school that offers the best academic education. We do wish they had an afterschool soccer program like they do for football.
Thanks RBA we also have been with you for 8 years now looking forward to makeing it nine next year. We could use another road for middle school but other than that I couldn't ask for a better school all of the teachers and staff are great.
could not ask for a better school for my child it keeps getting better
A great K-8 school, with great teachers, and a wonderful principal. RBA also offers a very well run, Pop Warner football and cheerleading program, and an outstanding music program. Our kids have gone there for many years, and we have been very pleased.
My daughter started at CDS in kindergarten and she is now in 6th grade, I have a son in 4th and another daughter that just started kindergarten. I do not have any complaints about this school, only praises! Had it not been for CDS, my children would not be getting the type of high quality education they are recieving. Not to mention the afterschool sports programs...Go Vikings!!!
CDS is an answer to my prayers. We were on the waiting list for one school year, but we finally got in this year. I am pleased with the teachers and staff. I think for people that cannot afford private school, but want a better enviroment for their children, CDS is the place to be. It is structured and diciplined. We feel blessed everyday to go there.
Great school with a great Principal in the middle school. The Office staff in the middle school makes you feel welcome and they do everything they can to help you.
I have two children at this school and I'm beginning to wonder about it. The discipline in good but, I think they go over board.
This school has been the best thing we ever did for our son. The teachers encourage him to excel. He participated in the FASTAR program last year which gave him confidence in his abilities and a chance to imporve. The teachers are caring and easy to communicate with. Accountability and good manners are taught. I love the uniforms - it makes getting ready for school a breeze. My only complaint would be the teacher retention rate. I hope to have a teacher for my son next year who will stay the entire year. At least each time the new teacher was an improvement.
Except for not having schoolbuses, this school is perfect. Great leadership, fantastic teachers, and lots of variety in activities.
I have to agree with the December review. CDS is a great place to learn. My children have attended for three years now and I have been nothing but pleased with the teachers and the teachings. The office staff is getting better...but there's still plenty of room for improvement! If you're looking for a community centered school with a proven curriculum and some great after-school activities, look no further. Just don't look in the office! ;)
CDS has been an answer to my prayers. We are very fortunate to have a school with higher standards of leaning for our children. One of the biggest responsibilities as parent is to provide your child the best education possible. I am very thankful to CDS for providing an awesome school for my child to attend. Everyone from the teachers to the administrative staff go the extra mile for the children. The teaching staff is awesome. The administrative staff...you could not ask for a better group of people. They have always been very helpful. If you are looking for a great school for your child CDS is the way to go.
The teaching staff and the curriculum at this school are top-notch. The administrative staff leaves much to be desired. I know that as long as I do not need to deal with the administrative office & can work directly with my childrens teachers, much can be accomplished. The front office loses records, phone numbers - they are awful! If you are hedging on your child attending this school because of your contact with the front office, look past that - because the teachers make this school great, not the administrators!
