While I interviewed for a job in Franklin County, I visited 6 schools. I am picky as to which one I will accept employment at as a teacher. I was very impressed immediately with this school and the "family" environment I walked into. In total, I was offered 3 positions from 3 different schools, so I thoroughly checked out all possiblilities. Both the principal and all of the staff at this school was speaken very highly of by all other school's administrators even those competing to hire me! It is true that NO child left behind, can hinder so-called "performance" ratings at the schools; but "growth" comes in many ways and nothing is apples to apples in such an environment when making comparisons. I can honestly say that "AYP" did not impact my choice of school for employment. I based it on much more than just that.

My daughter has been a student here for 2 years and I has really excelled. The Pricipal, falculty and staff are excellent. I am proud to be a LES parent, and can't wait for my son to start there next year! Keep up the great work!

I have been to the school to pick up my nephew on numerous occasions - there are always a good number of adults outside with these kids ensuring their safety and also making sure the child knows who you are before they are allowed to get into the car. On occasions when i took my nephew to school the principal was outside greeting kids and parents, opening car doors for the children always with a smile and a warm greeting. On occasions when i have been into the school to pick up this child their has never been a time i wasn't greeted friendly and they went to work to have the child sent up to the front desk in a timely manner. This school is top notch in my book and the principal and the employees are wonderful!! My nephew is very lucky to attend LES.

This is a great school. You can't go by the state report cards of the No Child Left Behind. If you miss 1 little thing under NCLB then you are labeled a low performing school. You have to take a closer look into the school and its people.

My youngest child has been there for 2 years and we are fortunate that he has had 2 great teachers because this school has become a disorganized mess. My oldest child went there 6 years and prospered. I feel the largest obstacles are the principal and over abundance of ESL students slowing down progress of all students and I feel eventually the good teachers will continue to retire and leave destroying this once School of Excellence.
