i'm a freshman this year and a month in, this school is already amazing. the teachers care about your grades, but the staff also cares about you having a good time during your four years in school. the lunch is a bit too greasy, but they also have things like salads and chicken wraps. sports are good, the coaches are caring especially when an athlete gets hurt and the athletic trainer is very good at what she does. there are plenty of fights though, and people smoke in the bathrooms.. it's nasty. they give plenty of time to get to your classes [5-6 minutes], enough time to eat [25 minutes], and they like to challenge you in class. they also try to make it an enjoyable experience, like for example, students are allowed to have their phones out in the circle and during lunch. most teachers allow students to chew gum too. overall, i love this school.
Maiden High School is part of a wonderful caring community. The small town atmosphere enhances the learning and sense of community. Teachers are very warm and caring. The whole town is proud of the high school. Friday Night Football games warm your heart to see the entusiasm of the whole town for a sport team and pride in being a Blue Devil. Everyone is excited about the new high school that will open in the fall of 2006. It will be state of the art school. We are sad to be leaving our old site which was built in the mid 1950's. Maiden High is an example of what high school should be all about - Child/ Spirit/ Community/ the Future.
Maiden is a wonder high school! The teachers and staffs are caring and wondderful! So let me tell you. I wanted to meet my daughter's teacher to see how she is doing. So I called Maiden and made the appointment. When I went to the office and told the receptionist that I have an appointment to see my daughter's teacher, she told me to go to the assistant Principal office. I thought to myself 'did my daughter do something wrong? I simply wanted to see her teachers' When I got there, all of her teachers were there including the principal! I was amazed at how caring they are. I used to go to big high school, and so the only time I get to see the principal is when I get in trouble.
