My child attended this school and he did not do well. He had some special needs and they were NOT meet. He was never given a chance because of the super high rate of teacher leaving this school. He is now in a new school and doing WONDERFUL. He has made the honor role and no longer hates school.

EM Yoder tries, but it is a test-driven school and it shows.Send kids here not here not to develop joy of learning, but to learn to temper that joy into the passive grind of worksheets. Forget hands-on-learning, creativity, breadth and cooperative learning. Yoder is a teacher-focused environment with quiet classrooms full of kids listening to the teacher, doing worksheets at their seats and worksheets at the centers. All three of our daughters' teachers claimed only 10min/hwk per grade level homework. All have assigned 3x as much each night (And my child is a top student). There is no Art teacher (nor real art instruction incorporated in regular classes), no foreign language instruction, no clubs. There is a great science teacher, but she can to classes occasionally, and a wonderful music teacher (who gives free lessons after school). I wish Yoder could teach the whole child, inspiring not deadening love of learning.
