We have one son in the 1st Grade, and another who has just entered Kindergarten at Thomas Jefferson. The results we have seen coming home from the classroom is amazing. This is a school full of amazing and caring instructors who place their faith in God and the ability of each of their students, while expecting family support and involvement throughout the educational process. We are proud to be a part of their family and look forward to the next 12 years with them!
TJCA is not a tuition school. Our students enjoy playing all of the sports other schools have, and we put our emphasis on academics, not just sports. We want our kids to go to college. And, by the way, we score a whole lot higher than RS Central. If you read the paper, you'd know that. We rank 5th in the state among ALL schools, for SAT scores. And 3rd in the state for over all scores. You need to get your facts straight.
I do not know where you are getting your information from. TJCA is NOT a private school, it is a charter school. They have soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. The kids have the opportunity to choose karate or ballet for their P.E. My son is in 6th grade this year. We love it!. Also parents are lined up to get their children into TJCA. Go Gryphons!
You pay for a school that does not score better than the one of the public high schools in the area, RS Central High. Athletics are dismal. The area is not the best.
Although small and lacking in certain areas, it makes up for that by it's education approach, and it's constant parent involvement not only with the school itself, but it's extracurrecular activities, trips, and volunteering.
