Good school but could get better if the principal stops playing favorites to the kids of sub teachers and parents who are on Pto and volunteer their time at school. Working parents always find their kids in the class of the least favorite teacher every year. This has been discussed amongst working parents and is being reported to the superintendent be a handful of parents who feel this every year.
We contribute monetarily if not with time when ever the opportunity arises. He is the least favorite principal amongst parents of high achievers. Nothing new has been offered in enhancement of after school program either in years, nor has he taken an initiative to offer anything out of the ordinary.
Positive character is taught and reinforced throughout the school environment. Students are taught problem-solving skills and necessary social/team-building skills for a successful and fulfilling life.
I noticed that some of the previous e-mails discussed overcrowding issues. However, a new school was built down the road, so there are now less than 750 students. Hallways are quiet and there's now plenty of space. I have been pleased with my kids' teachers. The school is challenging, yet caring. Great combination!
Teacher quality is not consistent in this school. While it has many excellent teachers, it also has staff that would be better suited to non childcare careers. It is however a very safe school and focuses on safety and good citizenship.
