Mount Airy High School

I find it very interesting that on your website, Mount Airy high School received a rating of 7 out of 10, when some of the county schools received higher scores. It is a well known fact that students in the Mount airy City Schools have consistently scored higher on standardized testing across the board and also higher on the PSAT/SAT/ACT. Mount Airy City Schools have been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top 3% of high schools in the U. S. I am proud to say that my children attended the Mount Airy system and have gone on to excel academically in the college setting. I am not quite sure exactly what type of scoring is used to to rate the schools on your site.

you just cant beat raising your kids in mt airy and having them be a part of all the things (academics and athletics) that mt airy high school can offer.

I felt very welcome at Mt Airy High School as foreign language teacher from a foreign country. The staff is friendly and helpful, the students are engaged and enthusiastic. I love teaching here, and working for a smaller school certainly has its perks! Livia Livengood

Mount Airy High is where bright futures begin. Jessica Johnson is the best English teacher ever!

I went to school to there then my daughter went there and now my granddaughter goes there. This school has a great academic program and a wide variety of extra curricular activities for its students to participate in. Also the teachers are well educated and are very determined. I recommend this school to those entering highschool.

Mt. Airy High School is the best school in the county or district. Munt Airy High School continues to be in the top schools in ranks of test scores, and drop out rates. It is a small school compared to many, and it has a very friendly atmosphere with wonderful teachers and staff. It is a safe place for my children to attend school, and the discipline actions of the principal and assistant principal are always fair and impartial. The sports teams are always the greatest. Mount Airy High School has the greatest coaches, and teams of anywhere in the state. My children have graduated from Mount Airy high School with a great education. In fact the greatest. My children have left high school and gone to college, and have made the statement that college was easy because of the courses that they had taken at mount Airy High School, and the help and imput from the teachers helped them to be successful in the college atmosphere. I would put Mount Airy High School up against any school in this state. I am proud of the fact that my children graduated from the best school in the state. Thank you.

Mount Airy High School is full of people who care about their students. The teachers, guidance, administration, cafeteria staff,and maintenance staff want the best for their 'kids'. Our town has suffered great job losses with close to 50% of our students in financial straits, yet our school staff takes that as a challenge to help our students grow their dreams, reach beyond what they've known. We are so lucky to have such a talented staff of teachers who prepare students to take on the future, well equipped and ready for the next challenge. Our administration cares about the individual child and knows each one. Our athletic coaches are more about building a person with character, to be an ethical and moral person, and win in the process. We have a lot to be proud of in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Mount Airy High School has everything to do with that.

Our high school has a great graduation rate, climate and staff! Students get the attention/help they need to succeed!
