With the limited resources the county is willing to apply per student, it is amassing the quality of education our children recieve. With a 300 student high school all children are engaged by faculty and are encouraged to better themself as much as possible. Our athletic dept. personal committment is outstanding. If all hours were calculated on salaries paid I believe we would have a labor dept. investigation, lol. The teaches are very committed to their students that results in a high precentage of Graduates going on to continue their education. I feel North Duplin does outstanding with the limited resource provided by DCBOE.
I transfered to ND High from Wayne Co.in the 10th grade along with five others from Wayne Co. rather than going to the large high school there we went ND it was like out of a movie the small town atmosphere, it has made all the differrance in my life.
North duplin school is great a school in my opinion the teachers do care about the students and they do nuture them as we moms would at home the atheletics department could stand some help in talking to the kids and not yelling or using profane language. They are just kids not nba stars or nfl stars.
I'm a former graduate of NDHS. ND is a wonderful school that provides a nurturing & more personal environment than most schools. Being a k-12 school, you grow and mature along with your friends and teachers as well. Everyone knows your strengths and weaknesses, and teachers are more than willing to help here. Parent/teacher involvement is outstanding! As for sports- yes it's true. ND pushes for everyone to participate in these extracurricular activities, but they're trying to give you the best items to put on your transcript. Leaving here, you truly are ready for college. I don't understand at all why they're trying to consolidate the schools here- leave ND the way it is...a community school with heart & pride. More schools should be made like ours.
North duplin school I have found that kids that have special needs that most of the teachers I have had dealing don't have the skills nor the patience to deal with the students therefore these kids continue to fall behind and not make much progress. The staff and teachers are more focus on the a+ students than the child that is struggling. I hope the school will but in place more programs to help these kids be successful. If you have a child who is add or any type learning disability north duplin rates low in this area in my opinion.
I saw the comment made in april and disagree with it.North duplin is a small school and is not like the bigger schools.I started at north duplin and graduated from north duplin and it is a great school to goto.I feel that being in a small school that most of the time you know everyone who you graduated with, not like someone in a class of 300 to 400. I was with 58 students and knew everyone of them.
This school is below the standards. If you play sports and are real good at it you will make better grades then if you dont play.
