The teachers, staff and principle in this school have gone out of their way to maintain a quality of excellence. Many teachers, due to funding, have been making their own visual aids for demonstrations and using their own funds because of the lack of state funding. These teachers also have to work against many parents that don't care, and treat this school as if it is a daycare. This district is now looking at no rehires if anyone retires; thus, causing a larger class in some grades next year and once again, our NON Union teachers are seeing no raises even though many teachers are very proficient and deserve them. Every day they fight an uphill battle, and North Carolina officials do not care. I would like to see this community and its schools get the needed funding, and whatever the money waste is, get it stopped. It has been rumored that the A/P programs have also been cut. These teachers are so dedicated, that they said they would go the extra mile with my assistance. I liked Waiting for Superman , but you did not show the other reason for bad school, and that is bad parenting.
