The principal at Nags Head is awesome. She has been extremely unbiased, professional, respectful and helpful in all my dealings with and observations of her. The guidance counselor is very intelligent. There are some fantastic, charismatic teachers here as well, just ask around and you'll find out which ones you'd want teaching your children. Not to discredit anyone's efforts or hardwork, I will add there are some ill suited for young children (think: Xanax anyone)! The Phys.Ed teacher is great. The building itself is very clean and comfortable. Like in any school there are behavior problems, the problem at this school really has little to do with how it is handled and almost everything to do with lack of resources for behavioral intervention programs designed for emotionally/psychologically disturbed kids. Not all children who act out negatively do so because of lacking proper discipline, yet it still negatively impacts everyone.

Not very happy with this school !!!! They do not have good ways of handling behavior issues. Not very good about anti-bullying . My son gets picked on all the time. Nothing gets fixed. I wish my son could go to another school.

My daughter has been in the school from K-1 (the first two whole years it's been open) We love NHES. The teachers and principal are great. The school is so new and has all the up to date equipment...teachers wear microphones around their necks so they don't strain their voices. There is a new rock climbing wall in the gym. This school is really great.
