Things are looking up. We have a new principal who is providing solid leadership. Overall morale among faculty and parents is improving.
I have two kids in this school and both have different personalities. I have never had a problem with this school until this year, but as of late, things are becoming better. So far so good with the new principal in place, but I think that the teachers need to be more patient with the students and not encourage meds so fast. I have had some encounterments with certain things and certain staff members running their mouth about my child and all I want to say is, don't be so quick to judge, because while you are judging, someone is judging you as well. I am not giving up on my child and I hope that the paid professional not give up either. Other than that, the school has great potentials.
I've got two children in this school and am encouraged by the things I see. A new principle is in place and certainly seems to have more 'together' than the parting one. We're new to the area (2nd year here at Oakboro) and our kids have adjusted well. Highly recommend Oakboro Elementary. Send your kids with confidence!
The school is a great school . The needs of all children are met at the school. The teachers work hard to assure that each child receives a good education in a safe and caring environment.
I thought there was a program no child left behind but my child has been left behind for a couple of years. And they are in the exceptional childrens program.Still cant read a bit better than before.I think something needs to be done but no need to ask for help no one will listen.
Very poorly administered school. Zero leadership. No support. Poor moral among teachers .
This school has high percentage of Exceptional Children ( Special Ed). They have a terrible reading program, poor scores in math. The system does not allow children in special classrooms to participate with non disabled children. Very poor.
