Willis Hare Elementary School

As a parent of two small children that have been attending WHES since last year,I have to say "IT IS THE BEST SCHOOL THAT MY CHILDREN AND I HAVE EVER HAD THE HONOR OF BEING A PART OF."My chikdren never attended preK,so they went into kindergarden not really use to a structured enviroment and within 3weeks my boys had mastered their abc,could count to 50,were writing very ledgable, and what really blew my mind was THEY WERE LEARNING TO READ!! The most important fact is that my kids have enjoyed being there and have not once had ANY TROUBLE.This fact is s due to a PRINCIPLE and the highly qualified staff who has zero tolerance to trouble and trouble makers,also we the parents as our kids biggest influence we should all realize IT DOES TAKE A COMMUNITY TO RAISE A CHILD even moreso in the world we all live in today. My final statement is, Willis Hare Elementary School is that community!

I am totally amazed at the teacher interaction. We visited to the classroom to see it with our child. The teachers keep the parents informed daily on the progress of their children, with daily behaviour reports, and a folder of papers for the parents. They send home informational papers on all types of things not just for the child. There are tips on how to be less stressful, tips on how to interact with your child as well as many other things. There is even a reward system in the classroom. When the child gets 5 behaviour reports that have a green checkmark, the student may then pick a prize. great school!!
