East Hoke Middle School

HOW is this school rated 7 out of 10?!?! This is by far the WORST school I have ever had the misfortune of having one of my children attend! The faculty and staff are more disrespectful than the children that go there! Ignorance is abundant as well as an attitude from the people in the office to the teachers themselves! For all of you out there considering this school for your children, your best bet id to get out of Hoke County as fast as you can!

THIS SCHOOL IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! they do nothing for kids being bullied!!!!!!!!! NOTHING! they dont care about the dress code and kids are noticeably high in class and are not reported.

I have had two of my four children attend this school and it is deplorable. The school LOOKS good; kudos to the Janitorial staff, but I have yet to meet ONE Administrator who is pupil and/or parent friendly, especially the Principal. She is just plain rude, mean and has a God complex. One of the office staff even spread rumors about my son and he heard her do it! I have tried working with teachers and Admin with no success; argument all the way unless you fit into that one group. The teachers? Calling them teachers is a big stretch. My youngest child went from straight A's to near failing when he entered the 6th grade and was still struggling for teacher help when he left the 8th grade. There is one PE Coach, the wrestling Coach, who is a real genuine person and teacher. Too bad he can't save the school alone. Sports? The director does not return phone calls or emails and makes parents feel like they are interfering and she is mean to the kids. The main sports coaches have their one group, if your child is not part of group, they don't matter and the coaches drive them out on purpose. The staff are even in cliques and drive one another out. I regret ever moving to this county.

We are new to the area. My husband and I tried to register our children for this school four times and was unsuccessful each time. the first time, we were told to come back in June. The second time, we were told to come back in July. The third, we were told to come back after August 1st. On the fourth attempt, we were told to come back after August 16th. The staff very unresponsive and would not explain why we couldn't register our children. We were able to register them at West Hoke Middle. The staff was great and very helpful. Hopefully West Hoke will be a good fit for our children.

this school is horrible, not to mention most of the teachers!!! i have heard from several parents and students(mine included) that the teachers humiliate the children by singling them out in front of the peers..also i left 3 messages 3 days in a row for a teacher to call me about a book that was taken from my daughter,needless to say she never called back and my daughter was unable to do her math. to make matters worse she would not give her a book to finish her class work!!!! ughhh it so frustrating that my daughters grades suffered because of this...ive noticed in this school if your not teachers pet you wont get to far!

My child was always an A,B student until she attended this school. The teachers have systematically destroyed her confidence and self esteem. It seems the only things the teachers do well at, is criticize and humiliate the children in front of their peers. Trying to work with the teachers to help your child succeed is nearly impossible. They seem not to want to be bothered by concerned parents. I have only seen 1 teacher in the entire school who was actually concerned for the students well being and cared about their academic success. If you have a choice, please do not entrust your children to the so called "professionals" in this school. You will certainly regret it.

It is sad to say that this is suppose to be the best middle school in the district. My child has lost so much self pride attending this school because of the teacher put down's and bullying that goes on in this school that something has to change. When a parent attends a teacher conference and the teacher looks at her watch while you are discussing your child's academics then you know that if they cannot respect you as the parent then you can imagine what our children are going through. I am truly considering a private school for 8th grade because one more year at this school for my daughter would probably break her. As a parent I am determined to pay whatever it costs for my child's education instead of allowing the staff at this school let my child fall through the cracks and end up an uneducated adult.

My student attends this school and except for the principal and a few great teachers this school does not respect the students or care about the students academics. My child went from a A,B student and in 2 years has went down hill so fast it is scary. I had to have my child removed from one teacher and placed with another where here grades did improve so that shows you if the staff don't care about the children then they should no longer be teaching. Its an unjustice for our children.

My childs first year at East Hoke Middle has been terrific...He had great teachers and the staff is wonderful...I would recommend this school to anyone.. I think the principal is awesome and they do not tolerate bullcrap..

Hold up dhis is my skool the only reason they acted like that wast because of the pincipal now if all of yhu went to east hoke now u would see we changed big time!!! discipline is way better and bullying nt im the *th grade we all stick up for each other!!!
