Academic focus and philosophy

Educational philosophy and approach to learning We are a parent co-op school, which means we blend aspects of traditional schooling with aspects of homeschooling to create a unique, nurturing experience. We believe that our students are made up of much more than a series of test scores. We recognize the many different ways children learn and strive to provide the best environment possible for their individualized learning styles. We also respect, appreciate, and value the input of our students' parents as co-teachers.

Parent involvement details We pride ourselves on creating a family-like atmosphere where parents are welcome and encouraged to participate. We love having parents help out as assistants, tutors, guest speakers, or in any way they can. As well, teachers send emails to parents each week outlining what is being studied and the homework. Parents have the director's email and personal cell phone number. We view Atlas, parents, and students as a triangle within the Triangle. Everyone works together for students' success.
