Looking for information on good private elementary schools in Raleigh/Cary/Durham

Hello!
My daughter turned four this past January and has never been in a daycare/pre-school environment until this month! We decided to put her in a local preschool just so that she can acclimate to being somewhere without one of us being there. She is doing very well.
We are looking to move to the Raleigh/Cary area in August and are seeking your advice on good private preschool programs. We do not have a social network as yet and so that option is out! There is also so much on the Web and it is difficult to narrow down the choices.
Academics are key but social development and a healthy appreciation of the arts is just as important to us! Please share your pre-school / kindergarten experiences with us!

Hi CharmMom, I know you posted this a couple of years ago, but just wondering if you received any good tips or if you had any good tips for someone in the same situation. We are re-locating from CA this summer and are torn what to do. Public vs. Private vs. Montessori and where in the area to move should we go public. Any info you could share would be appreciated.
