The person that said "Randleman High School...is the greatest thing in the universe" just proves to you how little exposure these kids in North Carolina get. Academics here barely meet the requirements for "Basic".
I'm a former student of Eastern Randolph High School. The students there were quite mean.. Most of them walked around acting they were better than everybody else there if you had money it was very known because of how you came to school dressed. Eastern Randolph to me was basically a big fashion show where everybody would try and out do each other. The student body was unfriendly, not to mention very clicky
Since the school split into two I have enjoyed it alot better. If you love football this is the school for you. Everybody come to watch the games. Thats where alot of the schools money is made. It is an older school but, they are trying to update it. Theres ALOT of pride and spirt and Eastern. All and all Eastern is a BIG SPORTS SCHOOL. if you like to play anytype of sports come here.
I went to school here and all they care about is the football program. Well I hope that this year with the new high school spilting the school will help put more on the teaching for the student then sports.
I am a current student. This school is heavily influenced by Christian beliefs and values, but this leads to other religions being excluded often. Expressing homosexuality will lead to singling out, and you will likely be made fun of heavily. The faculty and staff is fairly competant as a whole, there are definitely some really bad teachers, though. As said in another review, football is the only extracurricular activity anyone cares about, and is the only thing the school's money seems to go to (The computers and textbooks are really old). On the whole I'd say that this school is okay, it really isn't good enough for me, though (Luckily I get to go to a new school next year because they had to build another due to overcrowding).
I'm a former student and I had a lot of complaints about ER when I attended. The great football program is all anyone cares about. Science, art, and music get no support even though they have dedicated teachers. All coaches are required to teach at least one class, so you'll find coaches teaching some disturbingly inaccurate things. There is little diversity in the extracurricular activities offered. Sports, Beta Club, and FFA are basically your choices. I found it to be a rather insular community where diversity or creative thinking were discouraged. Good news: there are AP classes offered and the ones I took were well-taught and prepared me to ace the exams; and it was a safe environment with few students involved in gangs, no gang activity at school, and good discipline.
Proud parent. Positives: Very good school in comparison to other public schools in the area. Teachers care. Excellent football program. Few gang-related problems. Very friendly to people of faith. Student body reflects the community, not some mis-guided busing program. Negatives: Very rural setting with low-expectations from some of the student body.
Great School with a big tradition for sports lot of support from the community. GO ER
I am not actually a parent opportunities am a student. Definitely not the best teachers around although they are comparable to the rest of the county. Also not very many opportunities for club activities and not a very strongly supported music department.
This school is a wonderful school teachers are great and so are the students.
