During my time here at RHS, I have seen a lot of changes take place. When I first arrived, I will admit that there was a lack of rigor in some of our classrooms, and there was a tremendous amount of apathy from the student body. Many of the teachers that were here when I arrived are no longer here, and the current faculty that has been in place for the last 2-3 years have made great strides in changing the culture of this school and community. Our IB program is fantastic, our STEM focus is a standout feature of this school, and the students are rising to new challenges. All schools have positives and negatives, and even though our negatives get spread very easily, our positives are as good as any school in the state. This school is not a 4 out of 10. Come find out for yourself!

Strong leadership with administrators and teachers who care deeply for the students and their development. Outdated media and veiled racism within Rockingham County community continue to undermine Reidsville HS reputation, but I have found their reports to be unfounded and restricting. Diversity at RHS is one of it's truest strength.

Because the parents do help with booster clubs and as much as they can! There are opportunities for my Grandchildren that did not exist before and the Teachers make sure the students get to take advantage of these things. It would be nice if they would not have to do it out of their own pocket!

It was at Reidsville High School that my son (who is now a sophmore at UNCG ) learned to speak Spanish fluently, thanks to Mrs. Shirley. He is majoring in Spanish and communication, thanks Reidsville! Overstating the IB program? PLEASE! I'm sure you and I know the reason why Reidsville gets a bad rap from certain ones in the community. May God bless the students and staff at Reidsville High School. just a mom just a mom

I have had one child graduate from RHS and I now have one in the 10th grade at RHS. I have found this to be a great school. We have never had any problems with the school, the students or with the staff. Both of my children were A honor roll students, the first going to college on scholarships given for grades not because of sports. The faculty at the school have been great to work with. Mr. Craig came in as principal last year which I feel is the best thing to happen to this school in the last several years. He has gotten a lot of things done (for the better). Oh yea and for Coach Teague & his boys, you go!!! Two straight championships with two undefeated seasons. Oh and by the way all of his boys are on the A and A, B honor roll.

Poorly discipline. IB program is very over rated and is not accurately explained to the students and parents.

As a student at Reidsville High School, it would be expected that I would defend my school against all rumors. Unfortunately, I have been given no reason to do so. I am a full IB student with nearly straight A's. I feel obligated to say that my school is run by no one. In this so-called place of education, first-year teachers without teaching degrees are IB instructors, students cannot take home textbooks because there aren't enough of them, and most funding goes to the championship football team. All manner of behavior is tolerated (from yelling at teachers to the beating of other students) as a means to keep up our already-devastating reputation. I might just be a grumpy student, or maybe I am one of the few that want to find success.

I agree with the student in 2005. Very few quality teachers. I would home school before I let my child go to this school.

I am a student at Reidsville High School. The staff is undereducated and I felt as though I was behind. I attended a private school before attending Reidsville and worked very dilligently. Now, it seems like I am not being pushed to be the best that I can be. I mean, look at the test scores. They tell enough about the school and how behind the kids really are. Mrs. King, the new principal took some of the priviledges away and now there is nothing to look forward to for doing a excellent job. I regret the day I came to Reidsvill and I'm glad I won't be attending the 05-06 school year!

Reidsville High School is a great school with a strong sense of community and very involved parents. We are guided by a highly qualified principal with strong leadership skills. Our new principal, Janet King is doing a wonderful job of bringing the standards back up to where they once were. RHS has a strong teaching staff. Reidsville High has many of the best and brightest students in Rockingam County. They are true leaders with dynamic personalities. Our students are very well rounded with diversified backgrounds. They work together, w/a strong sense of RAM PRIDE! Students are committed to community volunteering. They are academically/ athletically gifted as well. We have an outstanding IB program that universities and colleges find highly desireable in a students application. Students that earn an IB diploma are given preference to their univ. of choice. The IB/program is an outstanding, academically challenging oppurtunity !
