I have two kids here and I absolutely love their teachers. They challenge the kids but also are super nice to them. Both my kids love their teachers so they want to strive to be extra good and learn "smart" things as my kindergartner says. I couldn't say enough about Ms. Wessel and Mr,s Koonce.

This will my son's 2nd year here at RPS. His kindergarten teacher and her teacher assistant were wonderful (there are not adjectives to describe them). When my son was having problems with understanding something, they gave him the one on one attention needed. There was a very open line communication between the parents and teacher/teacher assistant. There is one AMAZING teacher that I have much respect for. This is not his teacher, but she took the time to help him feel independent and want to do things for himself. When he sees her, he lights up and gives her hugs. We are almost into our 2nd month for this year. So far, I am very pleased with his teacher and teacher assistant. They are very encouraging with independent and cooperative learning. When I saw the school counselor and one of the teachers were there when my oldest son was 5 years old was impressive. He is now 16 years old, both remember him. This tells me the employees are very loyal and believe in longevity. I know this review is a bit long, but I want people to know that this is a GREAT school and I feel this way. Some parents may not agree, but you need to form your opinion.

I'm glad to have my child at RPS. His teacher this year is pushing him above his grade level and that's exciting to see him being challenged. She is doing a awesome job, so far. And I'm excited about the rest of the year. I don't know much about the new principal. So I will not rate him/ her at this time. I did luv the principals they had last year. And am going to miss them. I wish all the teachers were like Mrs. Parks. She's the best.

My daughter is ending her 1st grade year and is upset about school ending. Last year she had an amazing kindergarten teacher here and this year her first grade teacher is just as amazing. I am extremely upset that we will be moving out of the area for next school year. This school is by far the best in Onslow County. Parking is a little conjested in the morning and afternoon pick ups but that has nothing to do with the staff, I usually drop my child off around 7:35 to avoid it. I have never seen teachers so happy every morning to help the kids out the cars, and giving the hugs and high fives?!? What child wouldn't want to start there day with smiling faces? I also like that the kids have a "spirit week" and "Dr. Seuss week" where the faculty/staff dress as silly as the kids. AMAZING School, if I had more than 5 stars Mrs. Batchelor and her staff would definately receive everyone!

The principal has a tendency to overreact to certain situation. I love how she shows up when there is a problem! Some principal will just send someone else to do the dirty work. I would love to see teachers and administrators who are not standing in the halls in the morning gossiping about parents and students. My child told me that one of the 2nd grade teachers is always yelling or being uncordial to some of her students. I happen to hear her one day while visiting. It is unacceptable to get yelled at because you make one wrong move or merely ask a question. Fearing that you might get yelled at, by your teacher, doesn't lead to an environment that is conducive for learning. Sometimes teachers have to self-reflect and ask themselves is this really the job for me!

Horrible!! The school is over crowded...pick up and drop off is a nightmare because of extremely poor planning ! The leadership is very poor and there is no real communication from the staff. Heard these school were very good, but am very disappointed:(

Both of my daughters have attended this school and I was very pleased with the teachers and staff that taught my girls. My daughters worked at a more advance stage than most of the children in their grade level in order for the girls not to get bored the teacher would give them challenging assignments. I also volunteer in the class rooms and the thing I loved the most is that the teachers would go above and beyond to teach all their students whether they need more help or worked on a faster pace.

I am very inpressed with teh teahers and the staff. I bought a house in Richlands because I was impressed with the fact that my kindergardner would only be going to school with up to 2nd grader in which I feel is a better peer make up.

I would have to agree with all the reports about Richlands Primary. I could not ask for a better school than this. Both of my daughters have attended this school and they love it there. There is a great relationship between the staff and the parents. They always make sure that we are informed on what is going on with our childrens' education and what can be done to improve it even more. My youngest daughter has a learning disability and they were able to recognize it right off the bat and to start the necessary testing to get her the extra help that was needed to make sure she excels in here education. I truly could not ask for more than what this school has done. Like the other parent said I would definitely pay for my child to go to this school. How lucky we are it is public.

My son has been at this school since kidergarten he will be in second grade this year,His first grade teacher Ms. Cloutier took the time to stay after last year and help the ones that were having problems with reading and gave my son the confidence he needed. She is a great teacher.

I love this school. I'm a rookie kindergarten mom and I love my daughter's teacher and teacher assistant (Mrs. Reinke & Ms. Kesecker). They've been superb. It's a really caring and nurturing school. The level of parent involvement is outstanding, but parents who aren't as involved aren't made to feel like outcasts. The school has really made my already social child blossom.

I definately agree with the other parents in regards to Richlands Primary School. It is by far one of the best (if not the best school) in this area. They have a wonderful staff of teachers and staff. This school even has a afterschool program (Boys and Girls Club), which is free for children whose parents are in the USMC, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard and $15.00 per month for all other parents. My son is in his 2d year of school at Richlands Primary School.

This is the best school in the area! I love my son's Kindergarten teacher and hthe assistant (Mrs. Cavanaugh and Mrs. Cox) I am a rookie Kindergarten mom and they have really helped me understand what I need to be looking for so I can be a strong advocate for my son's eduacation. They are creative and kind but firm and teach respect. I love that the school is more than just about academics but also about character building. I just couldn't be happier with the way my son is being challenged and motivated. The specials (Art, music, computer, and PE are fanatastic as well. Great school!

RPS is quite possibly the best school in Onslow County, if not the state. The atmosphere is nurturing, caring, and inviting. The report among staff is friendly and warm. The administrative department is supportive of the students, staff, parents, and community. The campus is clean and well-maintained. Staff members consistently attend staff development workshops to improve student achievement. They believe that all children can learn, and I must say they strive to individualize lessons when possible to ensure success. Many activities and workshops are offered for parents and students. The lines of communication are always open, and the school maintains an open-door policy. My child looks forward to school each day because he never knows what his teachers (Alysia Baysden and Terry Dixon) will have up their sleeve. They are wonderful! They love and care about the students and staff at RPS and it shows. Richlands Primary Staff, keep up the good work!

I am a parent of a child that is in the kindergarden at this school. At this point in time I could not ask for a better school. Parent teacher involvment is outstanding. I get friendly calls for the teacher with praises and new information on how to improve my childs education. The teacher allways makes for I understand what is expected from the curriculm and sees that my child achieves it. There have been several workshops that the parents could attend to help their child grasp their education better. I would like to just say thank you to all the staff at Richlands Primary school...and a special teacher that goes the extra mile for her students and my daughter, Makayla,.....Mrs Teddye Park.

I have to agree with the previous parent! This school is wonderful! When we moved from Ohio to NC, we chose our living location by the school! We made a great choice!
