If you are in the advanced programs you will be fine. If you are not in the advanced programs, you are out of luck. In non-advanced classes the students are disruptive and the teachers don't care. Bad students block the stairs for other students. If I had the money, my kids would be attending a private school. New building-same problems. The school moved to a new location is now no longer located in the slums of Rocky Mount

I received a top notch education that set me up for a successful college and professional career. The IB program's rigor and high expectations should be more universal.

In 2011-2012 North Carolina used End-of-Grade (EOG) tests to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math, and grades 5, 8, and 10 in science. The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.
