speaking on the middle school There is a Principle over seeing this great change a rise to excellence This Principle is about business, the business of making sure your child/children are getting top notch quality education to prepare them for high school. Making sure that the staff and students are in a safe working and learning environment. Since this principle has been on the job the test scores in the middle school have been on the rise and still continue to rise, Rocky Mount Prep is on the way to being a school of excellence keep up the great work Middle school Principle BAJ

Rocky Mount Preparatory School is covered in MOLD...it's in every classroom, i'm sure it's not very safe for children or adults to sit in a classroom all day while mold is growing around you. It seems the headmaster is more interested in getting his name in the local Rocky Mount news paper rather than fix the mold problems or bring up failing test scores.

RMPS didn't make AYP for the school year 2010. With a school in "restructuring" from not making AYP in the past 5 years, the state should shut it down. The headmaster should be ashamed of hisself. I wonder who he'll blame this time. You have to wonder why the board keeps paying this man good money for bad results. He is running the school in the ground.

teachers pay was cut this so the headmaster could build a ball field and buy a gym floor. I think he should have waited a year or 2 so to do these things. Now I have to send my children to a school where the teachers are all mad and junk.

RMPS has very low scores and that reflects in their students. I have a family member that attends this school and they are so far behind in basic reading and math skills that it is sad. My Children will never attend this school.

RMPS has some very fine educators, but these are far and few between. The hiring and retaining of incompetent and unqualified staff is frustrating and highly reflective in the declining test scores and high rate of staff and student turn around. We felt that there was a very poor moral amongst the staff and the headmaster seamed oblivious to this. On many occasions he seemed out of touch and arrogant. Our children no longer attend RMPS and for many sound reasons.

RMPS is currently under Title I sanctions and in the restructuring process for consistently having low test scores. The headmaster did not notify the parents or teachers of this and kept this information hidden until he could no longer do so. The school climate is unhealthy because of the fear that the headmaster's actions create.

Prep is in "restructuring" in the state of NC. This means the school has failed to educate it's children for the last 6 years based on NC minium standards. Most teachers in the highschool aren't licensed in the course they teach. This means if your child gets a low score on the EOC, the student has to retake the course and test next year. The schools test scores in EOC & EOG have gone down under the current headmaster for the last 6 years.

The elementary school is very nurturing and supportive. We moved our 1st grader to the prep school after he had difficulty at a school that is considered one of the best in the region. The prep school has been a much better fit. The teachers are hardworking and caring. My son has had an excellent year and he looks forward to school again.

Staff is top-notch; the school is safe, and effort is made to ensure all kids are treated equally!
