Rocky Point Primary is like a family. It is in a rural setting, the school is quite old, but has had some nice additions, and the people are so warm and friendly. The children just seem so happy to be in school, and the teachers genuinely care about their students

I was concerned about the learning curve my daughter would experience from transitioning from private to public school, but Mrs. Houseman (RPP Teacher of the Year!) made sure that her studies remained challenging. While I will miss Mrs. Houseman, I am certain my daughter is fully prepared to enter into her next level of education. Thank you Mrs. Houseman. I hope my son has the good fortune of enrolling in your class. Principal Reddinger is fair and seems sincerely concerned about the needs of her school.

I am very pleased with this school and the teachers that my boys have had, Ms Scheaffer, Ms Sessoms, Ms Howell, And Ms Eakins. They have been very blessed to have these teachers.

I have been so very pleased with Rocky Point Primary. The staff has been conscientious and teachers have listened to our concerns and worked with us in order to provide our son with a sound education thus far.

This is my daughters first year at RPP and so far I love it. The classrooms are not overcrowded and the teachers are great. They are on top of academics and learning here, and they work together for the children. I am so glad my husband and I have chosen this school to place our kids in! Thank You to the staff of RPP.

This academic school year (2004-2005) has been amazing! My child has attended Rocky Point Primary for 3 years now. Since Principle Donna Redinger has stepped in... there have been many changes. I must compliment the staff, teachers, PTA council and active/participating parents for their hard work and dedication. Making that school a better place has required that many changes be implemented. For those parents that think that change should not be tolerated or that it is just an inconvenience... I say 'put your child's education first and try getting involved'.

The school needs some new ways of doing things. I didnt find out that school started until the day before, because they didnt send any letters home to the parents letting them know. School use to end at 2:20, now it ends at 2:45 they failed to tell us that also. They also changed the way we have to pick up our kids from school. It causes traffic to be backed up all the way down the schools road and onto a major road. The disipline policies are very poor, or just not enforced. The state needs to step up and give the county more money for schools. I guess other things are more important.

My son attends this school and I have enjoyed it so far. Yes there are a lot of students, but most public schools have the same issue. Even with the numbers the teachers were very helpful to both my child and myself. My child was happy with his surroundings and came home everyday with new stories to tell, and new knowledge to explain. I was sad to see my child leave my side with such ease, but I was glad he was in a school that aloud him to feel safe and secure.

After six weeks of being enrolled in this school, we had to pull our son out. A broad range of unacceptable behavior exhibited by far too many children. Conferences with the principal and the teacher were ineffective. The district is under tremendous financial strain, the classes are overloaded and the faculty members hands are tied. Rocky Point Primary is not a safe learning environment for children, nor is it (apparently) a fulfilling place to work. Apathy is rampant among the adults there and under the pressure of 'no child left behind' (as disclosed by the principal), the institution is a sorry place to be a student.

Unfortunately, the information contained on this site as it relates to class size/student-to-teacher ratio is misrepresented! Avg student-to-teacher ratio is 22 students per teacher. Great Vice-Principal, but sadly, an extremely poor region with a student body that reflects it.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
