Mr. Z is an extremely impressive roll model to the students; the young male students were definitely in need of some attention, male leadership, & discipline. Mr.Z is a take charge, hands on principal . There has never been a time where I have arrived at the school unannounced that he has made himself available to meet with me. He is definitely fair with the students. Some of the teachers may need a little more tough love from him, but I think he respects them because of their tenure at the school, but I feel that all the teachers, students & parents should get on board and follow his leadership & stop dwelling in the past. My boys have thrived at South so much better since Mr. Z s arrival & I genuinely appreciate his time & effort to help educate confident, respectful, and intelligent future generations.

OK I have had enough. South Elementary WAS wonderful 3 years ago when my first child entered school. Dr. C was there every morning in the halls, greeting students, with that wonderful red hair and big beautiful smile. As soon as you entered the door, you were greeted, welcomed, and 'loved'. South was a place where you wanted your child to be and where you really wanted to stay. Dr. C. was on top of everything and would do ANYTHING for the children. She loved them. She never asked anyone to do anything that she wouldn't do herself. The students would do anything to make her proud of them. When she walked into a classroom, she went in to help, and not to criticize. NOW, South is a different. NO ONE smiles, no one is happy, and the test scores have plummetted. Please bring Dr. C back, we need her!

Thanks to Mr.Z for all his hard work. He is only human and can't do but so much. He is truely a blessing to south and my children. I want to thank him for all he has done this school year. And if he reads this i'm sure he'll know who wrote it.

I am truly impressed by South's high academic achievement goals. The teachers are well qualified and know the NCSCOS well. My child is getting a quality education at South Elementary in Roxboro, NC. The principal, Mr. Z., is such a caring man and makes time when I need to talk with him. This school is the best!

A year ago I was totally satisfied and happy with South Elementary. Dr. C had things going on there and the students were not only learning but they were happy. She loved the students and staff and worked hard to explain things to parents. She kept parents involved and informed. She got her church involved in the Helping Hands ministry which was a blessing to my child. THEN, for some reason she left. It was a blow to every student, parent and staff person. The school is no longer clean, students are not happy, staff doesn't smile and greet you any more - what a waste of what a wonderful school should be! Where is Dr. C? Why did she leave? Can we get her back? If she has gone on to greener pastures, I wish her well but sure do miss her.

South Elementary is one of the best schools in Person County. The Staff is one of the finest you will find anywhere. If you have a child in this school be proud of the things this school can and will do for you and your child. The Principal Dr c. is one of the best and most loved principal in the county. The county should be gratefull that she is the head of South Elementary. The school has pulled up their test scores. The school is kept clean and the staff carried themself as perfeshional. I would be proud to have a child in South.

South Elementary has made great improvements in the last 2 years. I am impressed by my child's progress and her ability to get along with others. The teachers are there because they love children and care about all students. The principal is wonderful and is the best leader that I have seen. She loves her school and loves everyone in it. I would recommend this school to anyone moving to Person County. If you want a quality education in a caring and loving learning environment, then South Elementary is where your child should be!

The quality of education in this school speaks for its self from statistics. My son attends this school only because we live in its district and cannot afford private school. He is the minority and treated so. It is in a horrible location, and teachers and administration leave much to be desired. There are no extracurricular activities available, and there is hardly any parent involvement what so ever. We hope to move over the summer to get out of this district, and into the Stories Creek School district by the being of school next year. This school needs a MAJOR overhaul, and is a horrible learning environment. Avoid this school at all costs.
