Salisbury Academy is a wonderful school. The teachers are so caring and offer such interesting lessons. My son is excited about learning. As you walk through the halls of the building, you will see smiling faces and a warm atmosphere. The school has high academic standards and is current on technology and new teaching trends. The school is also Christian based and offers prayer and chapel. All of these aspects contribute to making Salisbury Academy a leading school in North Carolina.

It is a privilege to work at Salisbury Academy with so many knowledgeable, creative, and caring professionals. This is my sixth year woking at the school and I love it! My friends who are teachers at other school are always asking me to let them know when we might have an opening for them.

We are new to the area. Our daughter is in the 7th grade which is not the best time to change schools. She was very happy in her last school and did not want to move. We felt bad uprooting her from a school that she had been thriving in academically and socially. We knew that a lot of the students at Salisbury Academy had grown up together so we were worried that they would not welcome an outsider. After the first week of school we asked our daughter if it were possible would she go back to her old school or would she stay at Salisbury Academy? Without hesitation, she said that she would stay because the classes are smaller, we have time for class discussions and I love my new friends. That was a big relief for us as parents and a big compliment to the administrators, the teachers and the students at Salisbury Academy. I knew they would go out of their way to get us to come but we have been impressed by what they do every day for every student to help them learn and grow not only academically but as caring, giving young people. It is no mistake that we were welcomed and loved because the students are reflecting the love that they receive each day at Salisbury Academy.

My daughter has attend Salisbury Academy for 10 years and we have been very blessed those ten years. Between the educational aspects to the staff support we have had a wonderful 10 years. When every we had a conflict or a misunderstanding it was handled in a timely and effective manner. Salisbury Academy is family to us and always will be. Thank you administrative staff and teachers for giving my daughter such a great start in her education!

I have a child who started Salisbury Academy this year & I couldn't be more pleased. The amount of individual attention, the nurturing behavior of the entire staff, as well as how positive the environment is are 3 things that make this school so special. I couldn't be more pleased with all my child is learning!

This is an amazing school. The progressive core-knowledge curriculum gives children a broad view of the world. The teachers encourage different learning styles and hands on activities. It has been a great place for our child to learn to love school and love the process of learning

Salisbury Academy is a place where I am certain that three things happen every day for my three children: 1) They get the finest education in Rowan County; 2) They are loved and cared for consistent with the way that I am raising them; 3) They are safe and secure. Salisbury Academy produces challenged, spiritually nurtured, respectful and happy kids.

We love Salisbury Academy but most importantly our son loves it! He is always excited about going to school and is sad when we have a break. I am still amazed everyday with everything he is learning and how he is learning. Salisbury Academy is a very hands on learning environment. The teachers truly have the students put into practice what they are learning. As parent it is so rewarding to see your child learn this way. We couldn't be happier with the school, teachers, administration, students... I could go on and on!

I have two children that attend Salisbury Academy and I can't begin to express how great I think this school is and how pleased I am that my girls go to school here. Starting with head of school, continuing through all of the teachers and staff, taking into account the campus and facilities, and then reflecting on the curriculum, I appreciate and applaud all that Salisbury Academy is and continues to strive to be. I am very thankful we have access to a school that still says the pledge of allegiance, has chapel and prayer, and teaches virtues that I want my children to have. Both of my girls are well taught, challenged as needed, and are both growing in confidence and character daily. Salisbury Academy definitely has my support and will have my two there through their 8th grade years!

My child has been attending Salisbury Academy for 3 years. I have been more than pleased. I am a former teacher and have high standards and expectations. Salisbury Academy is an excellent learning facility. Students are academically challenged and offered "hands-on" and active learning opportunities. Alumni students of Salisbury Academy are consistently successful in high school and college because they are so well prepared. The teachers are highly qualified and energetic. The students are eager to learn and have a diligent work ethic. Discipline problems are not an issue at Salisbury Academy. I also like the benefit of having prayer/chapel at school. It sets a positive and loving tone for the school atmosphere. One of my favorite aspects of this school is that my child is greeted by name by smiling teachers and staff members each day. Not only does S.A. focus on academics, but helping children to become leaders by encouraging them in public speaking and presentations. My child is growing in confidence and in academics with leaps and bounds! We are so thankful!

We have been with Salisbury Academy for seven years. Our oldest daughter has enjoyed her time there, especially the Exploratory classes - music, art, and Battle of the Books. And what they learn in literature, math, and science is wonderful. There was no question where our second daughter would attend. To reinforce that choice, our youngest started singing about going to her big sister's school in January. She has been right at home there and doing well.

Our child entered Salisbury Academy in middle school. Our experience may have been different if she actually started here in elementary. The teachers are great. No problem there. The issue with introducing a child here in middle school is the school is too small. If your child does not fit in with the click then he/she will have no fall back socially. The classes are small and the kids are already part of their own small social group. What we discovered is our child was shunned by one person who turned everyone else against our child. The school year was one of the worse we have ever endured. Our child had to put up with alienation and bullying the entire year. As far as the teachers, we were very happy with them and the education our child was receiving. Unfortunately, the bullying was too much for us to deal with.

Salisbury Academy has been a great choice for our daughter. They have nurtured her love of art and music at a time when many schools are cutting back on these "extras". I'm glad Salisbury Academy continues to teach beyond the basics, and provides excellent opportunities for a well-rounded, balanced education!

This school just gets better and better! We had a few changes in leadership a few years ago, but the change was well worth it to have the leadership we have now - both in academica and in relationships with parents. Our children love to go to school every day and my husband and I enjoy volunteering when we can. We were apprehensive about change and instability, but now we know the school is solid and our children are in the best place.

Our 3 children are having another amazing year at Salisbury Academy. This has been the best academic choice in Rowan County for keeping our children challenged, engaged, and excited about learning. From the study of physics by our 8th grader, an in-depth look at, and performance of, works such as Alice in Wonderland by our 3rd grader, to learning about community service by reading to the elderly by our 1st grader .this is a school unlike any other in Rowan County!!! Thank you Salisbury Academy

All the reviews posted here were not based on 2008. The school is fine if your child starts here in Kindergarten or 1st grade and is trained to have perfect behavior from the start. They do not accept any deviation from perfect behavior. In the event of a conflict of opinion between a parent and staff, the school is always right and the parent is always wrong. They nitpick a child's personality and behavior until the child has no self-esteem left. The curriculum is unchallenging and way too easy, and most of the teachers do not utilize any creativity in the classroom. Projects are very boring for the most part. The head of school at this time, unsupportive to parent concerns. She doesn't empathize with parents at all! Stay away!

We had a wonderful experience at Salisbury Academy. The course work was challenging without being overwhelming and the faculty gave lots of individual support. Small classes and an active parent community make this a very special place! My son was well prepared for honors classes in high school after he graduated from Salisbury Academy.

Salisbury Academy had been the best experience for my son. SA's curriculum revolves around encouraging each student to learn, at his or her own pace, and with teachers who are patient and eager to guide each student on a personal level. The administration and faculty are truly one of a kind. Salisbury Academy is absolutely the premier private school in Rowan County.

One of the best things we have ever done for our children has been placing them in Salisbury Academy. The school has a great curriculum, staff, and facility. The mission is based on challenging each student appropriately, and has a Christian influence.
