What I mean by don't know is that it varies, in a Calculus class, there is a lot of homework, but it is necessary, then, some APUSH teachers will wait until the end of the year to have students study half of the class independently, which is too much. It really depends on the teacher.
The retake policy at this school simply makes people think if they take something often enough, it will eventually come in their favor, making students think success is the default state, fostering later disappointment and apathy.
Lee County High School is horrible, there are constant fights, inept teachers, a general disregard for education. Administration tries to deal with the violence, but makes little headway. And when a subpar teacher is brought to their attention, they can't even bother to answer their e-mail. That being said, there are several good teachers here. Most of the AP teachers are great, and Mr. Wilkins and the band program is, quite simply, awesome. If you aren't coming for band, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Both my daughter and son have attended LCHS and they have received excellent educations. Extracurricular activities are in abundance with the opportunity of participation open to anyone willing to work. All in all, LCHS is an excellent school with superb teachers. One most outstanding is Mike Wilkins, the band instructor. He genuinely cares for the kids and it is obvious. Go Jackets!!
