Just wanted to add that those aren't the only two(2) reasons of grieve that I have with the school...The principal is very rude and as I said before, she listens to your complaint, but offers no solution. She doesn't have a friendly outlook toward the children that attend, she looks for ALL the wrong in children, when she should be praising and finding out what the problems are and trying to find a solution for both the child & parent. This school NEEDS some serious changes with the principal and the asst. principal....I read the reviews before attending this school and just thought to myself, that the ones who made those complaints about the principal (Kim Leak) was just mad at petty instantances...Hopefully someone will read this and really listen this time....New Market needs a new principal & asst principal with better motives than just drawing a paycheck and attending meetings...
My son ateends this school and has not only had a wonderful experience but also has conquered milestones faster than we expected.
All three of my children have gone through New Market, 2 of which are still there. The learning environment is excelent, especially in grades K-2. The teachers are loving, caring, and strive diligently to meet the needs of their students. The administration is supportive of the teachers and the school building itself is very clean and inviting. Any child who has the advantage to attend New Market is in store for a great education.
All of my children have been going to this school since Kindergarten and my oldest is now an adult. My overall experience over the last 15 years with New Market has been really fantastic. It is a great school with a great learning environment for the children. However, I tend to agree with one other parents comment about the principal. I rarely noticed her greeting parents or the students with a smile on her face. She also was quick to point out the bad in everything and never said anything positive or gave any praise. I hope this new Principal has a better personality and attitude. I look forward to yet another year at New Market.
This has been a great school for my child. The teachers become so attached to the children and try really hard to help each child do their best.
I feel the principal is very rude. She seems to only care about what is wrong with the kids instead of what is right. She strolls through the halls every morning looking for tardy children, not greeting them as they come in. My children's grades have also dropped significantly since they have been going to this school.
I think this is a great school, the teachers are not only great teachers they care for their students, my daughter has been very lucky to have a good a learning environment. The teachers and principal work as a team , to show the students they are a very important not only to their family but also to their community & friends . They help build your childs selfworth which will help them become better at whatever they dare to dream. I'm a mother that truly is thankfull for the examples my daughter is exsposed to at this school also the way they handle safety issues . I feel that this school is ahead on the academic programs & they truly work at getting parents involved. My daughter & I are really looking forward to starting another year at New Market.
