Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

In general I believe the teachers are kind and seem to care for the kids. There may be a few that are cold and are working only for the paycheck. The front office has rude women that don't even acknowledge that you are there. They cut you off, hardly smile, and brush any concerns you have under the rug. The principle is okay. She is not as nice or warm as the last one. I think they all could be a little more inviting to the parents and at least pretend they care. I would like to see the office workers be kinder and acknowledge you are there when you come in to eat lunch with your child or sign them in or out for the day.

I am personally not impressed with a lot of the school's staff. I literally had a door slammed in my face and the teach turned around and looked at me as she did it. I just went in at smiled in her face. These women seem to be jealous and petty and very immature. My son does like his teach and Im happy for that.

I LOVE this school. This one of the very few schools in Gaston County that you never hear any complaints about. My daughter is now going to this school. And we LOVE it. The staff is AWESOME. From the principal, to the teachers, to the secretaries, to the janitorial/maintenance staff. ALL WONDERFUL! My daughter is in Kindergarten, and not only is she above grade level in all subject matters, she also is currently on a 2nd grade reading level!! She does NOT have a ton of homework. She has enough to do appropriate with her grade level. Usually one or two tasks or one worksheet, which only takes about 10 minutes, tops, to complete. And one SMALL book to read, which never takes her more than five minutes to read. A lot of times she will do the whole week's worth of homework in one night (her choice). And even that never takes more than 30 minutes. And I have NEVER gotten a letter requesting money unless it is for a field trip (not much money), and they only had three trips this year. Yes, they have a lot of fundraisers. But all of them are optional, you do not have to participate if you don't wish to do so.

I have three kids that started at springfield this year. All of them were doing well in school untill this year. Every night the kids have tons of homework. It really seems like the kids aren't learning anything at school. Everyday i get a new letter requesting money for this and money for that. It seems they are more interested in that than teaching our kids. Have no idea where the money goes.

A new addition was made to the school for this past year, so there's plenty of room and no trailers for the 2nd graders anymore. The new principal is very caring and approachable. Most teachers I've had dealings with over the years have shown genuine concern for the children. The dropoff can be a little aggravating at times. The school has little control over this. It has more to do with the traffic light which prevents the traffic flow. There is usually a policeman to help direct traffic. Pickup is very organized. I was very pleased with this school.

I was very pleased this past school year with his school. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. As a grandparent, I feel this is one of the best schools in NC!

This is a great school! I love the principal and the teachers! They are doing a wonderful job with what they are given to work with! I love the fact that it is K-2! This has been the best school as far as afternoon pick up! They are very organized and really seem to care about the children! I am proud to have children going to this school! The only thing they need to work on is better communication with all of the parents. When they are going to be late from a field trip they should have a system in place to let parents know the children are okay but going to be late!

I think Springfield is a great school. I'm very impressed by the teachers and the parental involvement. The traffic has improved enormously, and the principal is very involved with the children. The office workers do need a personality makeover, but overall, it's a great place for my children.

The school needs alot of improving...afternoon pick up is terrible. Princpal involvment w/ the children and helping teachers w/ unruly children is 0%. The overall friendliness of the office staff is 10%. A good morning and a smile ever once in a while would be nice. Updating is a most in the school. The orignal carpet is still there. And I agree w/ the school is busting at it's seems. The library should be open all day and the PTA at this school seems to be hush hush. Nobody seeing were the $ raised is being put to use.

Springfield is a wonderful school. Teachers and Principal are all so caring for you children. The only thing i would say that needs to be worked on is making the school bigger, But overall i wouldn't want my child going to any other primary school other than Springfield.

A K-2 school that is busting at its seams! Needs a bigger place! Friendly all around! Very caring administrators and teachers. Teachers go out of the way to be there for whatever purpose.
