Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

SCS has been a huge blessing in our life. My kids have caring teachers, challenging academic coursework, athletic opportunities galore and a we all benefit from a close network of like minded families.

I attended Statesville Christian from K-12 and I am now a college freshman just returning to school from fall break and felt I should write a review. I do not feel prepared for college, most of my peers have a lot of AP credits and had more choices for classes in HS so they already know their career path. SCS is so small I only had a limited choice of classes. I did benefit from the QRT and Winterim programs, which are unique to SCS. Also in a bigger school there would have been more students to find friends, whereas this school is so small it was hard to fit in. The school concentrates on the elementary and should put more into the HS, more teachers, more class choices, more activities. I felt a lot of the teachers were just there for a paycheck, but that is probably everywhere. Looking back I feel my parents should have saved their money and put it toward my college education. I was limited by funds as to where I could attend college.

I have a combined 41 years of children attending this school. While the school has never been perfect - good luck trying to find a perfect school- it is excellent and seems to be moving in a very positive direction. There are negative comments below by some, but I'm not one who feels like I should be in charge just because I pay tuition, who feels like my child should always be the exception to every rule, or who fails to require my kids to face their own consequences, so I have been very pleased with the school. The academics are rigorous (many children transferring from public school are about a year behind), and the teachers genuinely seem to care about the students' well-being... physical, intellectual, emotional, and physical. I have no regrets spending the money to have my kids in an academically excellent environment which is based on the Christian worldview.

School at SCS is awesome. We have some of the best teachers in the world, who truly care. Im never ashamed to live boldly for Christ at school. Many opportunities to get involved, build friends and have a blast everyday.

Wow!!! My child started back to school this week and its been awesome. From the Back-to-School Bonfire to the first couple days of classes he has been so excited. God's presence is certainly in the midst of the beginning of another great year. Our child has been attending for 11 years and the teachers don't just teach our child but show him the love of Christ daily. This impact has been even more evident in his last couple of years as I notice how his classmates are ministering to each other and sharing Christ externally.

My daughter began attending Statesville Christian School in pre-k. Today is her first day as a junior! The teachers and staff have played an important role in training my child in the "way" she should go. If you value a quality, Christ-centered education, you have found your school. We look forward to the future and can't wait to see what God is going to do in and through His school! Restoring the Price with JOY!

My niece has been a student at Statesville Christian School, since K4. I have witnessed alot of wonderful things at that school. Never have I witnessed anything bad. The staff has always been friendly. The students seem to all be friends, with no clicks. I have been to programs, plays, and sporting events. I would send my kids there, if they lived in the area.

This used to be a really good school. It really is NOT any more. I would not advise sending your children here. The wrong people have been in charge and the school is seeing the adverse affects. To be fair they have hired a new Head of School for the upcoming school year and I just hope that he can turn things around. First of all just let me say that the people who have recently been in charge and pretty much run things is not how it should be. If you don't agree with everything the school does or teaches your child/children along with you as a parent will be black listed. The academics are not up to par with the local public schools. The kids are generally behind in math and science. They keep the kids on a different schedule of when they take classes than that of the public schools so if you do decide to move your child they will most likely be behind.

Everything has really gone down in the last 3 years. Wrong people have been put into leadership positions and they manipulate everything for their own agendas. Very backbiting tension among staff. Good teachers have left and enrollment has really gone down more teachers than students. Tuition has gone up to cover paying for all of the unnecessary staff. Need to hire competent staff. Athletics are poorly run. Favoritism shown for staff children and those that brown nose the administration. Your Child will get put on the black list if you question the administration or teachers.

The administration of this school has gone downhill. Teachers rank at average and the students try to override the place. My son has been abused by students and teachers alike. The administration does nothing to help and ignores our situation. The academics are average while sports are below. This use to be a great school, but now has become a very toxic environment for my child.

Average teachers, a lot do not have a teaching degree. Administration seems to think it is a privilege for our kids to go here rather than a privilege to teach our kids. I have to agree with comment on administration not having a clue. Athletic program is below average.

The administration doesn't have a clue how to run a school. School is run by a little group pushing their personal agendas not best for the school. Atmosphere very toxic. Terrible Athletic program. Academics average.

I love SCS! This was my first year here after transferring from public school and I feel like I'm getting a great education the well prepares me for college and SAT's. I have also grown tremendously in my walk of faith. SCS staff and students already feel like family to me!

The team of teachers is the strength of the school. All of them are highly qualified and genuinely invested in the lives of their students. There have been multiple leadership issues, and the school struggles to survive in the depressed economy. The high school faculty does prepare the students to thrive in college, both academically and spiritually.

I am a parent of a senior at SCS. We have been pleased with the prepatory academics for college. But most of all we have been so blessed by the atmosphere at this school especially last year and this current year. Our daughter has attended for 4 years. I have witnessed first hand the love of God and the commitment of the parents and volunteers here is unparalleled. This school is worth your time to visit if you are thinking of a solid education for your child with a strong Biblical worldview.

I really love my school. SCS is the best school ever! I have been going for almost 4 years now, and absolutely love it. The teachers are so nice and there is not as much bullying as in a public school. There are also reduced drama rates. BUt what is 7th grade without a little bit of girl drama? But i really love this school and definently give it 5 stars.

We moved our first child after one year at another school. We've now been at SCS for 4 years and couldn't be happier. Both of our children are receiving a great education in a wonderful, caring environment. SCS has the total package, great academics, a Godly environment, excellent athletic programs and coaches. Students going on mission trips for there bearks when other school trips head to the beach. We couldn't ask for more.
