As for the 04/15/14 review of one star based on the founder s political involvements or affiliations, I do not really understand the one star rating since there are no references to any personal or student experiences at the school. How about examples of poor experiences at the school to support the rating, instead of the poor ratings based on your political ideology? As a parent who has two students at the school, the curriculum is great and the program has exceeded my expectations. There is a reasonable disciplinary program enforced that keeps class room distractions to a minimum. I would rate my children s teachers as good or excellent (especially the kindergarten teachers). They are very responsive to e-mails to address my questions and concerns. The after school program offers a variety of activities for the kids and allows time for the students to complete their homework. Overall, I am very pleased with Thales Academy in Wake Forest.

Get some background information about the founder of these schools, and his political involvements. It will be a real eye-opener. There is a lot of information online.

Thales Academy Wake Forest is an excellent school with very caring teachers and a curriculem that WORKS! My son is doing very well there and I love that he can be in a 5th grade math class when he is in 4th grade! They teach the kids according to their levels and my son needed that challenge. I volunteer in this school every week and I see happy kids, happy teachers, and a very happy and loving principal. The principal, Mrs. Lambert, knew my name and my sons name on the 3rd day we were at the school. She truly gets to know the kids and she is in that carpool line almost every morning and afternoon ready to greet you and your child. Also...my son has participated in several of the after-school activities, like chess, chorus, odyssey of the mind, and art class. Love love love this school!

Both my husband and I (and our two children) love this schools' great classical curriculum, as well as its respectful, skilled and supportive teachers! We also like the after-school enrichment activities (such as French, soccer, chorus, to name a few!). Teachers are motivated to and equipped to teach! My kids come home and sing grammar rule jingles because they love them so much! We feel super-grateful that, after moving here from another state and having been disappointed by the public school option, we found Thales Academy, which thankfully has a reasonable tuition. Thank you Thales Academy!

My son started 1st grade this last July at Thales Academy Raleigh. We love the school but more importantly, he loves it. We used to go to the Montessori School of Raleigh, I was initially worried as the teaching style at the Montessori is totally different than Thales. After being at Thales for five weeks, I have no regrets and I am so happy that I made the decision to move him. The circulum is great, the teachers are caring and on top of things. I receive responses to my emails from the teachers within the hour!! The families that send their children there are hard working and caring. Amazing environment. My daughter will be starting in KG there next year as well.

Our children both started kindergarten at Thales Academy Wake Forest and we couldn't be happier. The level of care and concern for students is amazing. Teachers go out of their way to help whether it be with academic or social concerns that students have. We love the strong academic program that allows children to excel beyond their grade level. They have a high standard for discipline that fosters an ideal learning environment. If you're looking for a school with a great sports program or extensive extracurricular activities, this is not the school for you. However, if you want a challenging and nurturing academic environment, look no further- Thales Academy is top notch!

Thales Wake Forest has strong academic programs and excellent staff! My child attends the Junior High program, and he is so happy to be in a place where he can learn, is safe and comfortable, and supported by his teachers. There are no egregious behavior problems, and the teachers and administrators do an excellent job of maintaining an environment that allows my son to excel. We are very happy we moved to Thales Junior High from public school.

The Wake Forest Thales Academy middle school has a problem with bullies. We had to pull out daughter out of the school because of problems with a violent bully that the school refused to handle. The school also assigns excessive homework, thereby, denying the kids a social life. There are no sports, and extracurricular activities are almost non-existent.

I love Thales Academy-Wake Forest. My boys attend the school and I could not be happier. The tuition is reasonable and the education they offer is worth every dollar. My kids enjoy going to school and have learnt so much. The teachers are wonderful and Ms Kate always with a smile and so welcoming. Direct instruction works for my children, they know to stay attentive and alert in class. I love that they are affiliated with Franklin Academy one of the best Charter schools in the state. I would have loved to get into Franklins academy because of free tution but having the kids at Thales makes me know that they are getting just as good an education as they would at Franklin Academy. Go Thales, Go Huskies!!!

We are thrilled we joined Thales family in Raleigh! What a breath of fresh education! Our son loves going to school he cant wait to go and find out what they will teach him today. History class, Character club, Science are his favorite. What a joy to see him so happy and intrested in learning - makes my days easy at work. Eveyone at school is so nice and loving. Working parents have before and aftercare if needed, Chess Club, homework club, Glee, Arts and Science clubs. Take time to review curiculum-dont be scared they will learn it all teachers are fantastic-energetic and are super patient. Take time to sit in for Ms.Hinelines reading class- you will be amazed how she does it- kids read and pronounce the sounds- make it fun but - acurate and while in disciplined manner- still so much fun for kids- they just absorb her information! I absolutely recomend this school for parents who are tired of snoby private schools or wake count p.scholls issues. Thank you to all the teachers and staff - you are the Best !

My son eagerly goes to Junior High every day at Thales Academy-Apex. He had been unhappy in his previous setting and it is a joy to see how much happier he is now. The staff is excellent and provides a classroom structure that invites and reinforces learning. The classical curriculum is great. The teachers are very committed and spend extra time with tutoring, clubs and the like. I strongly recommend this school.

We love Thales Academy Wake Forest. Teachers that really care, parents that are very involved (although most seem to work FT), and the structure allows my kids to take above level classes if they are ready for it. My 5th grade child takes the 6 grade math, reading and grammar to keep him challenged. Really looking forward to Middle School and the classical education curriculum they are offering. Nice families attend there as well and they adminstrators listen to parents and work closely with them on their concerns.

My daughter energetically heads for her morning classes at Thales with a smile on her face. She returns home smiling too! After receiving high marks on CogATs and low marks on math skills at our community public school, we were relieved to find that Thales tailors classrooms to the child's needs. So, my third grader is in level 4 classes for part of the day and level 3 classes for part of the day, allowing her to catch up on math skills that were neglected at the public school from which we transferred.

My daughter began attending Thales in Second Grade and we have loved it since (she is now a 5th grader). We are looking forward to attending the Middle School and it being a warm and inviting atmosphere both socially and academically. I could not ask for a better learning environment for my child. The teachers and administration are enthusiastic and eager and love that they get to "teach" instead of "discipline". I love that there our tuition money is not wasted on having too many administrators and not enough teachers. I am sure that Mrs. Lambert loves getting assistance when needed, but no matter what is happening she and Ms. Kate are always polite and courteous and addresses needs appropriately. They both have the patience of saints!
