I have a different story!!My daughter was physically injured on school grounds in the hallway by a parent. And yes there was a teacher there that did nothing about it. I have talked to the principal only to get nothing but exuses for the parent who is obviously buddies with her!!!! I am not done yet though.....I plan to go to Superintendent before getting a lawyer.
Westwood Elementary is a wonderful school that offers the latest technology to it's students and pride's itself on doing the best for it's students and preparing them for their future.
some of the best educators in the state teach at Westwood, with a commitment to excellency, a willingness to give of themselves, a commitment to excellency. I know that my daughter is getting one of the best educations possible! Thank you all!
My daughter has been a student at Westwood since it opened in 2004. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the great teachers, administration, and staff. They really do a great job teaching the kids.
I am very pleased with our 1st yr (Kgarten) at Westwood. Teachers were very caring and positive. I liked that my child had music, art, and Spanish weekly and gym bi-weekly. My only 2 qualms were that, as a parent, I didn't receive much information about what my child was learning. Being so young, he really couldn't put into words what he was learning. The other problem I have is that as a parent of a 'new' Kindergartener, I felt like it was beat into my head that 'this school is for the educators and your child - not for you.' We were told (incessantly) not to come into the school and pretty much felt like we couldn't approach anyone (i.e., don't contact us; we'll contact you). I missed out on a lot in my son's Kindergarten experience b/c of this mentality and me trying to abide by 'the rules.'
