I was a former student at Wilkes Central, but this school is just too out of control. I did not like it. I now go to West Wilkes High Schools it is the greatest, with kind faces every where you turn.

I am currently at Wilkes Central High school and it is a good school. They actually take time to help you. But the negative is they spend more time helping the richer than the poor. WCHS is the diverse school in the county. We have the most races. While it is still mostly caucasian the other races are still a huge percentage. The sports are really the highlight. Everyone makes the team mostly and it is about fun. WCHS is a good school but like any other school it has it downs about it.

I graduated from WCHS in 2006, they have great staff willing to help you in the best way they can any time. They have a superb highly educated science and math teacher. I mostly focused on taking Honors Math and Science courses and found the teachers very professional. The intercultural integration is the best. I had the chance to interchange ideas of other cultures and races and make friends with them. There's really not much I can say about WCHS that is negative. In reality only 15% are actually black, and a small other portion is Hispanic, Indian, and Chinese ( there's even German and Russians going there)and we receive more money than those schools outside of the district, but that's because of our diverse needs (ESL) and our overpopulated school.

Wilkes Central High is a great school. Most people look at this school as the underdogs of the county but if you look at it we have the most people with the least amount of space. Fair Academically, with few teachers who really care. It is a safe school but with the lack of space tensions can run high amoung teachers and students, and fights and arguements are common. Judgements aren't wanted, knowledge is.
