My daughter started kindergarten at this school and we absolutely loved it! Mrs. Moore in kindergarten and Mrs. Haley in first grade were the kinds of teachers that I prayed for before my daughter ever started school. This school has a small community feel and is very welcoming and kind. The academics were excellent! We moved after second grade and I now know how blessed we were to be a part of Willow Springs. My daughters two schools following WS were a huge disappointment. We still talk about how much we loved it there. Mr. Langley was awesome too and when he retired we also liked his replacement Mrs. Miller. If you're moving to Fuquay Varina, do what you can to get into Willow Springs instead of Fuquay elementary. You won't regret it!
I have two daughters who attend WSES, we have been here for 7 years now. My oldest just started middle school. I have loved every teacher and teacher assistant at this school every year K-5! When you walk through the school you are greeted with smiles and hellos even from those that may not know you or your child. The principle, assistant principle, and office staff are extremely friendly and very involved with the children. The cafeteria staff are also very friendly and helpful to parents and children. I hear friends complain about terrible experiences with staff at other elementary schools and I feel very blessed because I have never had a bad experience at WSES. I would highly recommend this school and would never send my girls any where else! I truely cannot say enough about WSES and their amazing staff. The PE teachers, arts teacher, counslors, library staff, everyone is wonderful!!
I have two children that go here and they love it! The teachers have been amazing and love the kids as if they were their own. Although the school is a little large, the principal seems to know all the kids names and interacts with them on a daily basis, especially as they arrive in the morning. I would never dream of sending my kids anywhere else!!
The leadership and community involvement at this school amazes me. I have two sons here and the eldest will be entering 3rd grade and I'm so thankful for the support and extra incentive that the students and parents have. The PTA is outstanding!!!
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what was the date of the schools December 2010 band concert??
We love this school. The teachers are great and the staff does an excellent job at keeping parents involved and informed. It has a small town feel where the principal knows the student's names. We are very happy here and would not want to send our children anywhere else.
Although it is a school with a large population, it is a very tight family. Everyone is involved in the community and support each other.
It is the best school. The staff is caring and wonderful. They help every child and we are 'family'
I have taught at this school for 12 years. We are a family and love each child as if they were our own. I could not imagine teaching anywhere else.
WSES has the best students, fantastic teachers and supportive parents! As a parent and a teacher, I am proud to call WSES home!
Willow Springs Elementary School has some of the best teachers and staff. They truly care about all of the kids. My two sons learned so much and I am very grateful for all that was done for my family.
What don't I like I can't think of anything...Best principal,Best Teachers,Just a big family atmoshere
It's a very down home country school where everyone works together to keep things working right
This is a super school. great teachers, students and parents. I wouldnt want my child any were else.
My son is in kindergarten. I have been very impressed with how welcoming the staff is and how well my son is doing in school (considering he never went to preschool).
My children are currently enrolled at WSES and I have to say that it is the best place for my children to grow and learn. My daughter will start school this year and I am so excited to watch her grow as her brother did this year. They really want you to be a big part inside as well as outside of school. All of the other parents that I have spoken with have all wonderful things to say about all of the teachers. If you are moving to this area I highly reccomend this school I will not move out of the area no matter how much it cost b/c I want the best for my kids and it is here!!
My daughter has been at Willow Springs for 2 years (kindergarten and 1st) and I absolutely love it. The principal, teachers and staff are wonderful. Every parent that I've spoken with is so grateful for this school. If you're new to the area or you're child is just starting kindergarten, you will be very pleased. Parent participation is encouraged and appreciated.
I have two girls at this school. The LED teacher has been wonderful with my youngest. She has made great progress. They both love their teachers. They enjoy music, art, P.E., and computer classes each week, too. I think every classroom has a small computer center. Spanish class starts in third grade. They've also taken field trips to the Zoo and Museums. It is easy to join the PTA, and they love the help! They have fundraisers, Book Fairs, and a cute Spring Festival. The school is crowded, though. Third-Fifth graders are in trailers. The Principal does a good job juggling the growth and space available. My girls have had around 20-22 kids in their classes. The test scores are phenominal. Our teachers know their stuff and have high expectations for my girls. A new school will open soon close by to help with the overcrowding. I'd definitely recommend this school!
This school has been an absolute Godsend to my son. He entered this school from Knightdale Elementary which did absolutely nothing for him and was just below grade level and one year at WSES he is now performing at or above grade level. I haven't met one person at this school who hasn't been more than helpful and the most kindest people to deal with. The leadership of the Principal, Asst. Principal and the teachers are in a category all their own. I absolutely love this school for what they have been able to do for my son.
This school does not do its job when it comes to meeting the needs of a special education student, as far as identifying the problem or addressing the problem. My child is going into the 3rd grade and has yet to be taught to read or write and has yet to be tested by the school despite repeated request.
