This schools administrators are the worse I've ever experienced. I'm new to the area and this is my child's base school. I come from the largest school district in North Carolina. My child has never been a trouble child in school with no suspensions. Very excelled (above grade level). My child has had to fight every day at school in the bathrooms, on the bus. Comes home crying because he is tired of being hit on. And it is told to me my child is starting with other students. Now remind you we have never had to go through this before. So I asked the Principal and the teacher to look up his previous records to see he has never been a troubled child and get down to the bottom of what the problem is. Guess what my child has been in school for a 1 1/2 months here and they can't compare his records because they never requested them. What tops it off, I was in a conference with the teacher/Principal and I ask about why I don't see much homework? It was told to me that they don't give out a lot of homework because of the kids extra activities (sports), REALLY. The sad thing is the ADMINISTRATORS DONT LISTEN. My experience is that I feel like that don't care NOTHING about kids that may not have it all or the best. They JUDGE kids without getting to know them. Regardless of a child's color, finances or where they live, they should all be TREATED EQUALLY. And I see different, for it to be a small county. I was warned not to go to this school because of the way they treat certain kids. I should have listened.

They are lazy and worry more about the kids playing sports then excelling in fundamentals

I don't think we could be happier at any other school! Forest Hills is a great school and the staff are fantastic. My child is in the language immersion program and after just 1.5 years speaks Spanish fluently! The teachers have helped me know how to better help my child and they seem to care about my child's learning abilities as well as her emotional and physical states. As a family, we love this school. Our only concern is that there is talk about the school going to a year-round rather than traditional school calendar.

The 3 rating is not accurate in my opinion. Our daughter has attended FHE since 2010 and there have MANY IMPROVEMENTS in the last 12 months under the new principal. The teachers there care a great deal about the students and do a FANTASTIC job at challenging the advanced ones.

These students are collecting bottle caps to illustrate accumulation of over use of plastic and then will recycle them for a brighter future.

As a teacher who as worked under three principals here, I can honestly say we have got the best now. Our school is safe, activites are based on data that is meanbingful to teachers and students. and our parents are supportive and enthusiastic. Forest Hills has become a great place to be!

My daughter started school this year and she loves it more than anything. She enjoys playing and learning with other children. All the children are very well behaved. Ms. Lowell and Mrs. Jones are great! My daughter loves school so much, she asks her father and I all weekend when its time to go to school. 'Is it time yet?' The only concern we have, is that the children do not have mats to lie down on at 'quiet time'. We were instructed to provide a beach towel. My daughter complains that her back hurts from lieing down on the hard floor.

My 6 yr old loves this school. We do also. The teachers are caring about their students. One of the few schools left that do offer P.E. There are a lot of extra events throughout the year that give the parents and child a chance to enjoy the school together.

my daughter attended forest hills elementary last year, and she had Mrs. Beddard and Mrs. Swartz. The teachers were so involved in my daughters education and well being. whenever my daughter was sick,Mrs. Swartz always called to check on her. I think forest hills elementary is a wonderful school. I decided to stay in the area because my daughter loves her school and I love the parent-teacher involvement. I hope that my child has wonderful teachers this year like last year!

Forest Hills Elem. is an excellent school with a staff that truely cares about each child. The principal is very involved and has outstanding leadership qualities. The art program is the best in the county and our librian is very creative and captures the children's attention and expands their minds.

I have 2 children attending this school. My oldest child has been at this school for 5 years and we could not have asked for a better experience. The neighborhood environment, excellent teachers, and involved parents are a plus here. My oldest child is reading on a level 3 years above grade level and my youngest is already doing math problems that are included in the curriculum for a child 2 grades older. The teachers are always open to new ideas and suggestions to help the children grow. The Art program is by far the best in the county! Administration continues to grow to meet the high demand for academic excellence in a safe, global, and confidence building environment.

My husband and I share participation in our child's schooling. Upon a surprise classroom visit I found two children asleep on the floor while class was being taught and being stepped over as if they were inatimate. My child is reading two grades ahead and has math skills one grade ahead of her class. My child is becoming uninterested. Concerns have been expressed and ignored. We moved to a neighborhood out of our price range for this school and are already dissapointed and looking elswhere. Recently, for P.E. class, which is weekly, the children picked up debris from the school grounds for thier activity. Unacceptable.

I agree with the former teacher. I was a very involved parent in this school and pulled my children out of this neighborhood school that they could walk to because of the administration. When I had problems with faculty or academic issues, my concerns fell on deaf ears. I have to drive by this school everyday to take my children to another school.

After teaching at this school I would not recommend it to any parent. There are discipline issues in this school that make it an unsafe environment for both staff and students. Staff will report issues to administration and nothing is done about it. I had bullying going on in my classroom all year, the administration did not even talk to the students. The teaching staff at Forest HIlls is wonderful and work well together. The administration is the down fall.
