We have very dedicated staff and teachers that truly care about our children. This includes our bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and custodial staff. Our school is the cleanest and safesty in the county thanks to everyone that is involved in our school. Even with recent budget cuts, our staff and parents' commitment to the school is endless and the heartfelt appreciation and teamwork is fantastic. We always achieve 100% PTA membership and our scores are amongst the highest in the state. Our children are kind and well behaved children and thrive from the level of involvement of our parents in our school. We love our school. It is the best!

I love Codington school because the classroom teachers and the special education teacher are excellent. Mrs. Delo is the best teacher my son Jonathan has ever had. She is great with a child who has special learning needs. Ms. Pridgen has extension knowledge on research based reading programs and how to match them to a child learning needs. Mrs. Buchanan truly cares about my child and is dertermined to ensure is education is a success. In a nut shell... the school puts the children and their learning needs first.. that is why they are so successful and achieve "school of excellence" every year.

This is an outstanding school in terms of academics. However I found the other parents to be a little snobbish. I am a single parent (an educated professional single parent) and I felt a little snubbed by other parents. I've never experienced this at other schools my children attended in New Hanover County.

The parent/staff involvement is what makes this school so wonderful. With over 500 PTA members, we are never short on volunteers.The year-round schedule works great for my family. I feel we have the best teachers and a strong administrative office. We have some of the highest test scores in the area. We also offer enrichment/acceleration for our students during our 3 week breaks, every 9 weeks.

I have found this to be a wonderful school. We have a great principal, teachers, staff, parents and student body who are involved and dedicated to the learning process. Codington's as strong as an elementary school can be! It's a school of choice and enrollment's determined using a lottery system with automatic admission to siblings of current students. It's a year-round school (9wks.on and 3wks.off with approximately 5 wks.off in the summer.) One week of each break is devoted to either an enrichment experience or remediation to help those lagging behind to catch up instead of making them wait until the end of the school year to attend summer school. The staff is fabulous! My three children have all had wonderful teachers. Codington has Life Skills classes for children with severe/profound developmental delays that are top notch, and the school also has a full-time nurse. There are after-school enrichment classes, tutoring, and after-school care programs available. The administration is strong and attentive and the PTA is strong. It's clean and safe. I cannot recommend this school more highly!
