A gem of a school. Focused teachers who are able to quickly move through and enrich the curriculum because of the bright and talented kids. An energetic and involved parent base allows this school to stand out from the rest!

Don't believe the previous review...WAAS is an amazing school. I've been there since 5th grade and my fellow classmates are intelligent and wonderful people. Its not perfect, but WAAS is as good as a middle school os gonna get. I love it, and I have learned so much.

This small school has downsides - like lots of teacher turnover and social bullying. When my child was the victim, they didn't seem to take it seriously. Lots of homework doesn't mean a better education - we are very disappointed. People may not realize that a group of parents run this school the way they want to - and their kids are treated differently. There is no principal in charge so you are just left disappointed.

The learning environment at WAAS encourages and celebrates academic exploration while allowing students to express their own individuality.

This school provides a safe, nurturing, and academically challenging environment for adolescents. The school is a wonderful community of learners that prepares students for the rigors of high school.

My child could not be happier. In this small environment, she gains confidence often lost in middle school. The academics are challenging, but it's cool to be smart at WAAS!
